Flawless sculpture that takes your breath away with its attention to detail and sculpting. You have to see to believe that this statue is man made and not by any machine! Amazing!

Wow! What an amazing experience and a privilege to be able to get as close as I did to the statue of David. It was worth the wait to get in.

The attention to detail of this master piece is mind blowing. Michelangelo was without a doubt a Master of his craft. His paintings are truly magnificent.

This place is a must to visit when in the beautiful city of Florence.

I had the Firenze card so walked right up to the door marked "reservations" and only waited maybe 15 minutes to get in. Once inside, just get your card scanned and you are off! You turn to your left and BOOM...there he is. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get close and get good pictures. Not like the Mona Lisa in Paris....but then agin, this guy is huge!

There is a long bench behind him if you want to just relax and take it all in and benches all throughout the gallery. I really liked the openness and ease of getting around this place. Get a Firenze card or reservation. The line without reservation was very long and in the hot sun, that's not a fun time.

The statue of David is definitely a figure of Florence thus you have to be prepared to queue. Bring a book, bottle of water, hat and sunscreen. It gets hot. Once you're inside the gallery it is magnificent. I was in absolute awe at the detail - everything from his hands, veins, arms...it is unreal. Really pleased I got to see this.

We were late getting in due to a strike by the museum staff in the whole city. Seeing the David and other art works was worth the wait.
The supporting art work was good, but not as grand as I'd hoped. The Uffizi was a lot better for paintings and of course you can see a copy of the David where it was originally designed to stand.
