Great location, very friendly and accommodating staff (they arranged museum tours and opera recital tickets for us). The breakfast was fantastic! The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious, although a second chair would have been nice and no view (not complaints, just a note). Good value in Florence.

My wife and I just returned from our second visit to Florence and our second stay at the Hotel Casci. It was nine years since our last stay and nothing had changed. The was owners were so welcoming, the rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I do not think you could find a more centrally located hotel in Florence. On our last visit, our room had a soaking tub which we requested again because my wife loved it so much . After hours of walking the beautiful city of Florence, she said that soaking in a deep tub was heaven! The staff could not be more helpful, and they recommended a few tours which we took and enjoyed. They also recommended a lunch restaurant (Trattoria Toscana Gozzi Sergio) which we absolutely loved, so much so that we ate there multiple times! This restaurant was a stone's throw from the hotel and the San Lorenzo Market, it was perfect! We highly the Hotel Casci and will return again on any future trips to Florence.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are nice, we liked the rooms with the soaking tub.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Casci in early April 1014. Paolo, Carla, and all the staff were wonderfully welcoming, and made gallery and restaurant reservations for us. Excellent buffet with bottomless cappuccino was provided. Highly recommended!

This hotel has some positives features but also negatives aspects:
Let's start with the positives:
1) Location: this is the main reason I stayed there. You are at 3-5 minutes walk from Santa Maria del Fiore. Maybe 8-10 from Uffizi, 8 from Piazza Signoria, again 8-10 from Ponte Vecchio, 5 from the Galleria dell'Accademia and 10 minutes walk from Santa Croce. Believe me, its location is just perfect and you won't get better than this without paying a much higher rate. Another point about location that deserves to be mentioned is the fact that the hotel is just beside the Florence's Official Tourist Info Point and another company which offers sight seeings. I did not use any of them, but at least regarding the Tourism Office....I believe it is important to know that the hotel's location is at few meters.
2) Sleeping quality: we had room 22...which means we were in a room far from the street, in the rear part of the building. We had our deserved resting hours after exploring the city without being bored by any noise...Maybe here it is a good advice: when making your reservation ask for the rear rooms..
3) Breakfast: good enough with croissants, cakes, coffees, fruits...
4) Room: spacious enough...and the furniture was ok. I didn't care too much, after all, you do not go to a city like Florence to stay in the room to appreciate the furniture...
5) Staff: can't say anything bad....Paolo and all staff was there for us when we needed: last minute tour to Galleria Dell'Accademia and an Umbrella borrowed are few examples.
6) Cleanliness: in the room everything cleaned.
Now what needs to improve:
1) Furnitures at the Desk and hallway to the rooms: they need a reform....a modernization. Seriously. I mean, they are ok...and everything is functioning but they look like...dated. If I were the owner I would try to reorganize the space in a much modern and rational way...for example with a clearer division between the desk area and the breakfast area.

All in all, the Hotel Casci, thanks to above listed characteristics, must be consider as Top option for your stay in Florence.

Booking somewhere in a city that we have not visited before can be challenging but not at the Hotel Casci. E mails were answered promptly and answering all our questions. When I had occasion to phone them, their English was superb and re assuring. On arrival, we were welcomed and found our room to be entirely as described.

We were also given excellent guidance on eating out in the evenings including booking tables. It fully deserves it's ratings.

Hotel Casci may only be 2 stars but a combination of incredible staff, a first class breakfast and a location to die for makes this hotel seem so much more than 2 stars.
The rooms might be a little old but they are spacious enough and the beds are comfortable. When you wake up in the morning you can make your way to the buffet breakfast. Here you will be greeted by hotel staff and offered coffee. The feast begins. You have choice of a multitude of fresh fruits and cereals, croissants and toast with plenty of topping options. There is also a bar with multiple beers, soft drinks, wines and spirits.
The location of this hotel is phenomenal, very close to the Duomo and the metro. It is almost in the centre of the city which is perfect.
But what I will always remember about Hotel Casci is the staff. Absolutely brilliant.
