My family loved our stay at the Hotel Casci. The location is great being only a 5 minute walk to the Duomo, a 5 minute walk to the Academia and The David, a 10 minute walk to the train station and a 15 minute walk to Palazzo Vecchio. The hotel is a converted convent and is a little quirky but charming and family run. Our hosts were very gracious and spoke very good English so there was no language barrier. PierPaulo took care of my reservations at the Academia which saved my family a great deal of time. Our rooms, we had two, were spacious enough, the bathrooms were good size and the air conditioning worked great. Breakfast was very good and the cappuccino excellent. The hotel is on the second floor but there is a lift. We really enjoyed staying here as opposed to a chain hotel because we wanted to get a feel for the real Florence and were not disappointed. On the day we had to leave, we left our luggage at the hotel while we did some more sightseeing until it was time to catch a train. Our luggage was safe and secure at the hotel. The restaurants and gelato recommendations from the hotel were very good. Florence is a beautiful city and if I ever get the chance to visit again, I will absolutely stay at the Hotel Casci

by the time my Life Long Learning group from FSU left Florence. We were in Florence for 2 weeks and immensely enjoyed all the Casci had to offer. The breakfast had an assortment of breads, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, and an egg cooker so that you could have soft boiled eggs. The staff were always eager to please--to the point of offering unofficial Italian lessons during my stay. The rooms are in an incredibly good location--2 blocks from the Duomo and Baptistry, 3 blocks from the Academia and the David, 2 blocks from San Lorenzo and a little further to the open air market, a short walk to Santa Maria Novella or the Piazza Republica. What a wonderful way to get to know the city and make the most of an Italian vacation without breaking the bank.

We loved our stay at hotel casci. It is run by a very kind family who look out for all of their guests. They intentionally kept their breakfast buffet open after closing time so we could eat after oversleeping. After our airline lost our luggage they called repeatedly to help us locate it and helped us avoid the English-Italian language barrier. Overall the hotel has a perfect location and is very quiet. We would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Face the main street or the magnolia courtyard

What an absolutely fantastic hotel run by such a lovely family.

I have nothing but praise for Hotel Casci. Upon arrival we were greeted with so many smiles. We were shown to our room by the family's Nonna and she was lovely, reminded of my own Nonna back at home!

Our room was facing the main street and the only thing you could hear outside was an ambulance if it drove passed. Other than that there was absolutely no noise from the street.

The rooms were immaculately clean as well. When we returned for the day we found our pyjamas had been folded and put on our pillows.

The breakfast in the morning was very simple but delicious! Lovely pastries, toast, a LOT of fruit, eggs and biscuits.

The hotel is in a good location. Only a 10 minute walk to the main attractions and train stations.

The only downside was that my pillow was a bit firm but then again everyone has a different pillow preference!

Would definitely come back here again and will recommend it to all friends and family if they visit Florence.

The hotel itself is not a show stopper. The room was a bit small and somewhat stuffy, but the location is fantastic for walking around Florence and the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. They made a fantastic dinner recommendation and offered to call and make a reservation for us (the reservation turned out not to be necessary).

If you are visiting Florence, you must stay at Hotel Casci! Great location, quiet and large rooms, fabulous breakfast, friendly service, etc., etc.. Cannot say enough good things!! The staff is genuinely excited and honored to have you there. They take great care of all your needs. The breakfast is so good, put together by two women who are very eager to serve you and start your day off right. At night, you can have wine/coffee, etc.. at the small lobby bar (nice surprise). They are very reasonably priced, offering discount if you pay in cash. Great location - off the main (loud) part of town so quiet but still within walking distance of everything. When we come back, this is definitely where we will stay!!

I can only echo the praises other reviewers have given to the staff of Hotel Cascia-- very friendly, most accommodating, and truly committed to excellent customer service. Breakfast was excellent each day, and even the housekeeping staff greeted us as we walked by.

I have to say the room was tiny, especially the bathroom. The toilet and bidet both had to be opened and pulled down from inside the bathroom cabinet, one at a time. The toilet did not flush well, and emitted a terrible sewer odor.

Otherwise, our room was quite clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The air conditioner worked well. Every museum or other site we wanted to visit was within easy walking distance. The fact the hotel is on the third floor of the building is actually an advantage, as street noise is greatly reduced.

For a welcoming and pleasant environment, this hotel is tops.
