Hotel Casci had everything we were looking for: not the luxury of a five star hotel but a nice clean room, a very good breakfast and most of all: a special touch from the personnel. Friendly and interested: an example: the receptionist asked if we were in Florence to see Ajax, a Dutch footballclub. They had to play a footballgame against Fiorentina, the club from Florence. Yes, that was our main reason to visit this beautiful city. The next day he congratulated us with the good result Ajax booked!
That's the personnal touch you long for! Thanks to Casci and the sun we had a marvellous stay in Florence

Hotel Casci was a good, basic hotel with very helpful and friendly staff.
Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. Staff helped us with dinner reservations, museum reservations, directions, train and bus schedules. The entrance from the street up the stairs to the lobby is kind of dark and dingy, but the hotel itself is much more bright and cheery, with a lovely frescoed breakfast room. It is well-located near the Duomo and the San Lorenzo market, Overall, a fine choice for a budget-conscious traveller.

Stayed three nights, had a double, a triple, and a single room. Triple was HUGE! I had room to do my yoga on the floor between the bed and the wardrobe. Cleanliness- impeccable, our maid even left US a thank-you note for leaving a tip! Location- Florence is an extremely walkable city, and we were two blocks north of the Duomo! Two blocks south of the Accademia. Great location. Rooms- had bed, dvd player, tv, wardrobe, bathroom (ours had a tub- it was wonderful to soak after a long day of walking), art on the walls and nice large windows. Service was great- breakfast was filling with eggs and breads, meats and cheeses, fruits and yogurt. And of course, espresso, cappuccino, cafe americano, and a variety of teas and juices. The front desk staff was awesome! Everyone was so helpful, and friendly. This hotel has a lot of extras- a dvd library to rent from, wi-fi in the rooms and public areas, made museum reservations, shelves of books- novels and guidebooks, magazines, and of course- maps of the city. All of this for no extra charge. A special thanks to their staff- on the day we checked out it was raining. Our train wasn't leaving until much later in the day, and they let us stay in their bar area the entire afternoon after we had checked out! Whenever I go back to Florence I will be staying here!

My husband, adult daughter and I spent 2 weeks (mid March to first of April, 2009) in Italy and loved Hotel Casci. Mainly for their customer service. Pierre was the greatest. Also, our room was huge and very clean. It was great to have free internet access. Breakfast was great. Excellent location - we were able to walk to the hotel from the train station and to all the tourist sites. We would highly recommend the Hotel Casci!

One minor detail to be aware of -- you have to take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd/3rd floor of the building to get to the reception area of the hotel -- it was a little confusing when we first arrived.

Hotel Casci was the best hotel we stayed in during our 3 week trip through Italy. While the hotel is centrally located, wireless internet is free, rooms are clean and large, and breakfast is substantial (and includes unlimited cappuccinos!), the best part of our stay was the super friendly staff and family who run the hotel. They always greeted us with a smile and a kind word and arranged tours, museum reservations, laundry, restaurants, and any other simple or complicated request imaginable. Always with a smile. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the hotel Casci for 5 days and would not hesitate to return. The hotel is centrally located so that walking from the train station or anywhere else in the city is no problem. We felt very comfortable because the room was extremely clean. Not only were the white sheets crisp but the blankets and quilt cover seemed new and unused. The tiled bathroom was also very clean and kept that way throughout our 5 day visit. The breakfast was not varied but everything was fresh and good with a wide selection - eggs, fresh rolls, cereal, coffee, tea, pastry and fresh fruit. In addition, the people running the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. They got information and reservations for us even when it was time for them to leave work.

The Casci is a small family-run hotel in a vintage building in a great location (a block and a half from the Duomo). I have stayed there twice: for six or seven days in 2006 and again, for five days, this month. The rooms are comfortable, immaculately clean, quiet, well-appointed and tastfully decorated, and some look out over a gardened courtyard. The breakfast room, featuring a high frescoed ceiling, is very attractive, and the food is both terrific and graciously served - under the watchful eye of the family's marvelous matriarch, Signora Lombardi.

Which leads me to what I like best of all about the Casci, and it's why I feel so at home there: the people who have long run this establishment (it's worth noting that I was welcomed upon my arrival this trip by precisely the same folks who had greeted me back in 2006) are unusually warm and friendly (though never obtrusively so!), and at the same time they deal quickly and effectively with guests' questions and needs.

If I am lucky enough to vacation again in Florence I shall certainly stay again at the Casci.
