My husband, my 11-year-old daughter, and I stayed at the Hotel Casci for 5 nights in June 2009. We had a triple room (3 beds) that was very comfortable, with a roomy bathroom. We spent a couple days touring Florence, then did day trips--a guided bus tour (set up by the hotel) to Siena and San Giminangno one day, and another day we took the train on our own to Cinque Terre. Florence was a good base for these trips. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, with wonderful coffee and cappuccino. Very quiet room. The location was walking distance to everything that we wanted to see. The hotel is up on the third floor, and the entrance on ground level is rather dismal and on a busy street, but once you get up via elevator to the hotel it's a wonderful, quiet, meandering place. The staff reserved our tickets for the Uffizi ahead of time when we asked by email and helped us with other plans. Very family-friendly place! A computer is always on in the lobby for guests to access the internet--free, unlimited access as long as someone else doesn't want it. We really appreciated that!
