“The Hotel Casci was one of the more pleasurable experiences I had while in Italy.”
Reviewed 14 May 2010

Overall: When I return to Florence, I am not considering any other place then the Hotel Casci!

Service: Impeccable! For the months leading to my arrive the hotel staff was is constant communication with me and when my B&B in Rome cancelled 3 days before I was to arrive the Hotel Casci attempted to help me search for another inn. Pierpablo, who is also the most handsome man I saw in all of Italy, truly went above and beyond to assist me with all my travel needs. He made all of my museum and attraction reservations and always was concerned about our opinion of our experience in Florence.

Room #10: GREAT BATHROOM!! The room was spotless and the bathroom was newly renovated. This was a standard double room, no frills, and the bed was just a little hard (some may like that).

Location: Only a 10 Euro cab ride from the train station, which we only paid due to having luggage. Other then that you are within walking distance to EVERYTHING Florence has to offer. The location was extremely convenient and allowed us to drop any purchases off or take a break in the middle of the day without going off course.

Breakfast: I travelled to 6 different B&B’s during my 16 day holiday in Italy and Hotel Casci by far had the BEST breakfast! From the warm croissants, to the fresh cappuccino, yogurt, cereals, and pastries. We were spoiled!

This hotel, as stated in other reviews, is well located and reasonably priced. Rooms are simple, but impeccably clean. Breakfast is provided in a pleasant old vaulted area of the hotel. The real beauty of this hotel, in addition to these excellent features, is the Lombardi family. You cannot find a hotel more interested in meeting the needs of clients and easing the travel experience. They are always ready to help with tours, reservations, suggestions for touring or dinner and generally making everyone feel as though at home. The entire staff is incredibly polite and willing to help at any time, should any travel problem arise. This is as close as you will get to an Italian family experience in a hotel setting. I genuinely miss their company.

My sister and I stayed here for just one night last week (wish it could've been longer). I can't say enough about the family that runs this hotel-- they are warm, pleasant and helpful. When I booked the hotel, they contacted me to welcome us to Florence and to offer help in securing reservations to the museums. They also gave us explicit excellent directions to the hotel. Upon checkout and without any prompting, they offered to keep our bags so that we could spend a few more hours in Florence. Our room was meticulously clean and overlooked a beautiful leafy courtyard. It was large enough to accommodate both of us comfortably. The location was perfect, short walk to the Accademia Museum (Michelangelo's "David") and the Duomo, very central to everything. We walked to and from the train station. Breakfast was very good-- fresh strawberries, croissants and toast, soft-boiled eggs, a pineapple cake, cold cereals, juice and coffee. Also, the hotel provides free internet access.

This was our second stay at Hotel Casci and it did not disappoint.

Welcomed by the incredibly-friendly and amazingly-handsome Pierpaulo, we felt right at home. We were welcomed as old family friends would be.

We were two adult women (mother and daughter) and found our room to be big by European standards. We had a desk area and several areas along the bright and airy windows in which to open/store luggage.

We had an additional sitting area between the bedroom and the bathroom.

Our bathroom was newly remodeled and was quite large, with full spa tub, showerhead, toilet, sink and bidet. Our room was air conditioned and had a tv with several English-language channels, including CNN. There was also a DVD player.

The breakfast service is wonderful. Very attentive staff. You can hardly put down your cup without someone offering to refill it for you. Many good choices for breakfast including eggs, croissants, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, etc. Espresso, cappucino, tea, fresh juice. Lovely spread and very accommodating staff.

The front sitting area off the front desk area has a computer set up with free internet. (Free wi-fi is also available in your room!) There is a little bar area and refrigerator with soft drinks. Additionally, there is an endless array of travel guides and books, and DVD's you can borrow to watch in your room.

Hotel is on the second floor (third floor to us Americans) and is accessed by a small lift. (My daughter took the stairs every day, to keep in shape. Alas, my arthritic knees were better left in the lift!) The hotel is centrally located next to the former Medici Palace, on Via Cavour. Literally a 5 minute walk to the Duomo and 15 to the Ponte Vecchio.

We so love Florence that we wanted to stay an extra day. Again, the hotel staff was very accommodating and had no problem letting us keep the room for an extra night.

They also made recommendations for (and reservations for us) and some very good restaurants. ZaZa and Trebbio. Do try both restaurants while in Florence.

We love Hotel Casci and will not consider staying anywhere else on our future trips to Florence!

We stayed here in late April.

It was centrally located -- we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go to in Florence. It was about a block and a half away from the Duomo, which was wonderful! Everything else was still in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast buffet was yummy (breads, meats, cheese, sweets, cereal, espresso, juice). Free wireless internet. Good restaurant suggestions. Had CNN and BBC news. And again, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!

Now, don't go in here expecting the Four Seasons. The hotel could use an update/remodel. Our window looked out to an alley and on Saturday night, there were people hanging out (loudly) in the alley until the wee hours of the morning.

But we would definitely recommend this hotel and definitely stay here again!

Small hotel, in a fantastic location with the friendliest staff, super clean, impeccable service, good breakfast...what more could a traveler ask for?! The rooms and beds were comfortable and loved the huge bathtubs! What a treat after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The wonderful staff, including Paolo, Karla, Pierpaolo, were gracious, helpful and so warm. They helped us with museum and restaurant reservations, made great suggestions for day trips, one morning when I felt too tired to make it to breakfast, Karla made up a tray for me and had my husband bring it to the room. They worked with us when our flight was canceled and helped us get in touch with the airline. On our last morning as we were rushing off to the train Karla gave us water and juice bottles for the trip. There may be more beautiful and elegant hotels in Florence, but Hotel Casci will always be my first choice when traveling in Florence.

Was great to stay here - was really like staying at family. The breakfast was excellent and they went out of their way to serve us and to make sure that we were enjoying our stay. The outside of the hotel is being renovated so looks a bit dodgy but inside is a gem. Our room was beautiful and LARGE - we even had a extra "room" in our room for our luggage. Staff were VERY helpful and the free internet was great. Location was also excellent and we could walk easily.
