This hotel was AMAZING. The service was fantastic, the location was great and the room was extremely spacious, however I made the mistake of opening the windows to our room and mosquitoes infiltrated our room and ruined our nights there! There were so many buzzing around the room neither of us could sleep and I woke up with bites alllll over my body, on my feet, hands, face, neck. The hotel was just a block or two away from the sculpture of the "David" and the hotel made reservations for us upon arrival. The hotel was also just a short walk away from the cathedral. Our room was HUGE, it had tall ceilings, an entry way as well as a large bathroom with separate shower and bath tub.

Casci, Manager at Hotel Casci, responded to this reviewResponded 29 December 2010

First of all we are happy to learn that these guests of ours have enjoyed our hotel and our services.
I only wished they had let us know about their problem with mosquitoes - usually they are not a problem, but last year has been exceptionally humid with lots of rainy days throughout the summer and probably this has enhanced the problem - usually this is easily dealt with with the air conditioning, otherwise we give the clients some anti mosquito machines or sprays, depending on their preference - or sometimes we can even move them from a room over the garden to one over the street or the courtyard, where there are no plants - that is IF we know - it is too late to tell us at the end of the stay or once back at home.
Anyhow, we thank them again for their nice praises and we hope that this will not spoil their memories of our country and of our hotel.

Third "small" hotel on our trip from Milan to Venice to Florence to Rome and I'm really beginning to appreciate the value of the TRULY PERSONAL service provided by these smaller, more intimate hotels! The check-in is very friendly. You're shown your room and made to feel very welcome! Each time we returned from sight-seeing and each morning at breakfast we're greeted by name. Clean, neat and quiet. The room was small, but very adequate.
Located very close to the Accademia, the Central Market & the Medici Chapel, it's less than a 10 minute walk to the Duomo. We walked to the hotel from Firenze SMN (train station).

Can;t say enough good things about our stay here! It was if we were staying with family!!
VERY clean and quiet!! Room reminded us of a little villa in the country....close to everything..staff was exceptionally helpful!!...breakfast was full of choices of fruit, pastries, cold meats, etc!!....Especially enjoyed evenings in the little cozy bar overlooking the street below....We will most assuredly return here again and again!!

This is a wonderful, friendly, clean hotel. The location was perfect, right in the heart of all the things you would most want to see as a traveler. Great food, shopping, and gelato nearby. The staff was most helpful and accommodating and even recognized us by day one. Breakfast was wonderful and included at a very low cost. We became friends with the staff and wished we could have stayed there for longer. It was the true italian experience and felt like we were coming home at days end.

After reading reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor and other websites we chose this hotel for our week's stay in Florence. We were not disappointed! The rooms are quiet and impeccably clean and anything requiring attention is immediately handled. The location is within walking distance to all the major sites (5 minutes to the Accademia, 5 minutes to Il Duomo,10 minutes to the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchia). The breakfast buffet is fabulous with pastries, fresh fruit, yogurts, meats and eggs, cappucinos, americanos etc but what sets this little hotel apart is the staff. They will bend over backwards to offer assistance - suggesting daily activities, booking restaurants, parking arrangements etc. Nothing is an effort for them and you rapidly feel like you are staying with family. We cannot recommend this little family run hotel enough.
Thanks for a wonderful stay in Florence!
