Drop dead gorgeous hotel rooms with stunning views of the Arno River and just steps away from the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Ours had a huge balcony thanks to a complimentary upgrade. Rooms are large and modern. Bathroom was superb. Kitchenette was very functional with refrigerator, dishwasher and those single serve coffee machines. Service was great and friendly. Close to everything. Absolutely will stay here again on our next trip.

Came to this hotel with high expectations as you would expect of an hotel of this supposed calibre. On first instance, my boyfriend and I were confronted with two merged twin beds for our stay (in what was supposed to be a romantic weekend). To add to this, once we popped open the champagne from the mini-bar, we realised that there were no champagne flutes in the bedroom and we were forced to drink from standard water glasses- not the offering you would expect from an hotel that is marketed as being a four star, design establishment. To add to this experience, when we entered the stylish in-house Fusion bar at 22.45 on a relatively quiet night, we were prohibited from sitting outside because this place was exclusively reserved for any prospective diners (yes at 22.45 at night-the outside bar was reserved for diners). When myself and my boyfriend decided to query this, we were greeted by the inhospitable restaurant manager who basically snubbed us and re-iterated that we could not sit outside because it was reserved for diners and offered us no other alternative, even though she was aware that we were guests. This disgruntling experience really dampened the spirit of our final night in the beautiful city that is Florence.
In regards to the value for money, this hotel is on the pricey side as you will see and the rooms are quite limited in size however their bathrooms do come amply spaced which is quite unhustifiable as I would personally prefer a larger bedroom.
In concluding I hope that my experience in this hotel, will help determine your choice of hotel in Florence.

We struggled over Florence hotels and were very pleased with our choice. We arrived in Florence after staying at a more traditionally-decorated hotel in Rome, which we also loved. We had read about the modern allure of the Gallery Hotel Art and expected this Ferragamo Hotel to be a bit "edgy," and the main lobby, with its exhibited art work, was just that. Steps away, though, the library and bar were so inviting and comfortable, while still having a modern flare.
We had looked into staying right across the way at the Continentale, which we went to see. Turns out we liked the Gallery Hotel Art and its space considerably better.
The rooms and bathrooms were very pretty, and from what we could tell (of the five rooms we had), each one was a little different. My parents had a junior suite that was amazing!! Breakfast was terrific and could be taken in the library area, which was very relaxing!
The location was just right -- just one short block off the Ponte Vecchio and from the Uffizi, so it had all the benefits of being "there" but not the noise.
The staff was very helpful -- one bellman in particular was as nice as could be. Wish we remembered his name!!
We would definitely stay here again, but would hope that some deferred maintenance would be completed before our next visit. The hotel is about 9 years old, and the carpets and caulking appear in places to be on a 10-year replacement cycle. With those improvements, there would be nothing at all to fault!
Would recommend to families, groups, couples and individuals!!

Our aim for this part of our holiday was to find a central hotel, within walking distance of everything. We were not looking for cheap, but a very good hotel - we'd wanted to stay in JK Place but the reviews for that hotel were not very good so decided on this one instead.

Upon walking into the hotel, the first thing we noticed was the smell, a distinctly subtle sewer smell. It is safe to say that we didn't have breakfast here as a consequence, but then again as it is €25 for two, and there are some very good caffès around - why would you?

The location is perfect, I can't fault that. But the staff are just annoying rather then helpful. To the extent where we asked for a good bistecca (steak) restaurant to be sent to one that had a grand total of ONE steak on the menu .... Although the Maitre'D was quite amusing as he said to us: "How many steaks do you want?"

Something to note, although there is a air con control in your room, and there is a control on the wall, all temperatures are controlled from the hotel reception - so you don't actually need to ensure a night in a chiller!!

Our first day was our anniversary, so we bought a bottle of vino to celebrate. I should mention that one of the glasses wasn't completely finished by the end of the day. When we returned on the second day after a full day out, the maid had "kindly" rearranged the glasses - still with wine in, what type of hotel is that?? For a hotel that aspires to be so much, it fails to deliver at all in many crucial areas.

On a better note, the sister hotel, exactly opposite, has a rooftop terrace which is stunning. You can still charge drinks to your room too. But, non-residence can visit too so you don't need to stay to see it.

Great location, small rooms, reasonable breakfast, free WiFi, great rooftop lounge at sister hotel (The Continentale) across the road. Staff not great if something goes wrong, we tried to solve an A/c problem and got nowhere despite 10+ requests including 7 to the manager who finally appeared after 36 hours, still not heard from their head office four days later. Room very hot (26 degrees) and no one seemed to be able to do anything exceot smile politely and make promises they didn't keep.

We were delighted by our experience at the Gallery Hotel Art, part of the Lugarno Hotel group. Overall, I have the impression this group runs a nice operation. I had called to find out the difference among the hotels and decided to go with the one that had the best special at the time. In this case, 2 nights for the price of three. We received an excellent room despite the promotional price. The beds are great. The air conditioning works well which was very important given the heat. We chose to have the breakfast option which while a bit pricey, is very convenient and worth it. The concierges (really the front desk staff) were very accomodating and helped us with everything from tickets to museums to reservations for dinner. Location is perfect!!
