My new wife and I arrived here as part of our honeymoon and were blown away by the beauty, the location and level of service.
The setting is magnificent, with unbelievable views and superb grounds. Nothing is too much trouble for the very accommodating staff and we have enjoyed every minute of our stay.
A pleasant surprise was the comprehensive wifi connection throughout the hotel and by the pool area which is a subtle modern necessity in an otherwise stunning 13th century building.

Will live long in the memory.

I agree with all the ecstatic TA reviews in their specifics. I could simply re-quote them here, but I would add that with the tourist related insanity of Florence, this was an escape to an earlier, non-commercially polluted time. I can't emphasize this enough. It's best to rent a car and have it available to use T. Di B. as a base to reach out into Tuscany, particularly the South, though we drove to Ravenna from here. The A1 Super Stradda access is relatively close. But to push open your blinds in the morning and see the views of Florence was pretty mind-blowing. After much travel; I will never forget them. Spring weather would give them intriguing changes in aspect. Taxis were the best route to specific Florence destinations and back, though the walks through the property were wonderful and enabled you to kill some calories and improve cardio. Reports of guests being miffed about bugs, ease of access to central Florence, etc is to complain of this not being the plush Marriot. This is not. If you wish something like it, go find it out there in Tourist Congestion Land. But for those wishing for authenticity, come here.

Dear Guest,
It gives us so much satisfaction to have clients like you who really and deeply understand what Bellosguardo is about : a "different" kind of place where peace, beauty and atmosphere are the most important aspects. Above all we want our guests to feel at home here. Thank you so very much for your generous comments!

Our stay at Torre Di Bellosguardo was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment we got out of the taxi, finally away from the hot and noisy Florentine streets, the view across the city took my breath away and the incredible peace and serenity of the villa became apparent. Bellosguardo means 'beautiful view'... and things just got better and better. This is a house of great antiquity, with a host of famous historic and artistic connections - the atmosphere echoes with the past and with the elegance of Florentine nobility. We spent our time talking to the delicately pastel coloured Cockatoo in the 'Limonaia' the garden room that houses the Lemon trees in the winter and walking in the beautiful gardens, restored by owner Giovanni Amerigo Franchetti, watching the exotic Hoopoe, sulfur coloured Serin's, woodpeckers and green lizards. We were looked after impeccably, nothing was too much trouble and the wine made from the Bellosguardo vineyards was delicious. We can thoroughly recommend a visit to this enchanting place and hope to return very soon. Thank you very much to the Bellosguardo team for making our stay so special.

Room Tip: Room number 12 looks over Florence from dual aspects

Only a literally centuries old building has the charm and style of one. Points for Bellosgardo! The location is excellent, on a green hill with splendid views of Florence. The walk to town is only 15 minutes!
The staff is extremely friendly, which makes you feel even more at home. I very much recommend this place to all those who can afford it.

I am so in love I want to get married here. What else can I say?!
History
Art
Sincerity
A retreat from the bustle of Florence but only a 15-30 minute walk away.
The staff were very professional, helpful, & friendly.
A groomed Garden of Eden on a mountain top. Rose gardens, raised vegetable gardens, iris lined perfectly manicured lawns & bushes, a pool, majestic trees & stone walls, lily ponds, waterfall & streams, olive grove… I want to live here.
So much time & love has been placed in restoring &" improving" this property.
This is not a modern hotel with a steam shower, but it smells like roses & is like a fortress heaven.
We Americans were forced to relax in a lovely hot bath because we didn't have a shower curtain.
Coco Bella, the parrot was great fun.
We cannot wait to come back.

Room Tip: Even the bottom floor has a great view.

It's pretty hard to get teenagers to be impressed by anything, especially anything old, but my two were awestruck the moment they walked into Torre Di Bellosguardo. They spent an hour exploring the gardens and meeting the animals. This hotel is truly special and we all felt very lucky to have stayed there.

We had room 15 which is a suite with a small anteroom where two twin beds were set up for our children. Our view was of the hillside and it was so beautiful it almost didn't seem real. We sat on the terrace the night of our arrival and shared a bottle of wine and watched the sunset - I'll remember that evening forever.

This is not a hotel for people who like to hang out in a bar and see/be seen but it is perfect for people who want a bit of history, a lot of beauty and an experience like no other. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Views of the city (our taxi driver gasped when he saw the view -- and he's a local!) on one side...

We returned and everything was as wonderful as before. The staff is friendly and the setting cannot be matched. The views (and fresco) alone are worth the trip. For people who do not want a corporate, soulless hotel and want a unique place in Florence.
