“Duomo”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

For me, the most impressive sight is the Duomo. Inside it is very stark and not much to see. The facade is beautiful and well worth walking around the building.

“Amazing building - sadly spoiled by flocks of holiday makers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

The building is awe inspiring. Sadly it was spoiled by the masses of American and Japanese tourists who persistently take photos to show their friends when they get back home. You can't get near it.
If you love culture the Florence is a must but leave it until winter when the hordes have gone back home.

“Beautiful exterior”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014 via mobile

Impressive outside especially with Campanile next to it. Inside is quite austere. We went at 4pm. It was still quite busy but not crowded. Best way up see paintings on the dome is from the top of you go up the dome. Only then do you really see the details.

“Highlight of Florence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

Duomo is beautiful both inside and out. It's quite a climb to walk up the many stairs in small cramped spaces but well worth the effort to see the very magnificent view up there.

“The most amazing sight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

Having come from Rome and seen many, many churches, coming upon this enormous Cathedral in the evening light was probably the most amazing thing I've seen. It's so grand in every way. We walked around it in the moonlight and it is so huge and covered in such a complicated design in the marble, it is amazing. Interestingly when we went back the next day to visit, the interior is not that amazing. People talk and write so much about the Dome, and while it is quite an achievement, I think that the rest of the church is every bit as special.
