Owner description: Palazzo della Signoria, better known as Palazzo Vecchio, has been the symbol of the civic power of Florence for over seven centuries. Among the works of art safeguarded in the museum: the Cortile di Michelozzo; Michelangelo’s celebrated Victory in the Salone dei Cinquecento; Donatello’s Judith in the Sala dei Gigli; the private rooms of the Medici court and among these the marvellous Cappella di Eleonora, the chapel with paintings by Agnolo Bronzino.

As one walks from one majestic room to the next, one cannot help to think about what it must have been like when the Renaissance leaders transacted their affairs within these halls. The art and architecture are impressive and the layout is easy to follow. Highly recommended!

The decoration of this palace / museum is quite extraordinary. Keep an eye on the ceilings, and the furniture decorated with pietra dura. The one room, however, I would recommend most highly, is that of the small studio of Francesco I - superbly ornate and beautiful - simply stunning.

This is an amazing place that seems to go on and on - especially when your feet are tired (which they always seemed to be in Florence! So many sights to see, so much walking to be done) The queues were not bad later in the day. Well worth a visit.

The Museo di Palazzo displays the known works o famous painters and well known artists all over the world. One of the paintings that I was familiar with was the Victory in the Salone dei Cinquecento by Michelangelo. I also got to appreciate for the first time was the chapel with paintings by Agnolo Bronzino. For all those who want to go out and explore art, never miss the museum in Florence.
