“Good overnight sleep near airport”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Family hotel or for a larger group. Stopped 1+1 nights June-July 2014 for way in and out from Tuscany. Closeness to airport and the easy way to the city of Florence with local transportation is a defenite bonus. Only the small parking space was limiting, but we changed our car hiring plans for one day and used local transportation instead. Hotel is very clean, helpful service and a morning coffee are good for a short stay.

Room Tip: It was possible to have all four members of our family in the same room, good for budget and safety...

We had booked this hotel back in January 2014 and being close to the airport, it would be a good idea to have a hotel close so we could get onto our Tuscany adventure early the next morning. The Alitalia flight was delayed in Rome so we didnt arrive till late. When we arrived at this hotel we were told there was no reservation made under the name. That was odd as only 4 days before I had received an email confirming the reservation and credit card details. The guy on the desk didn't seem too concerned and did not even go out of his way to help at all. His only comment was hey I only work 3 days a week at night and I don't know what goes on in the day with the bookings. He didn't even offer to ring around and try and find a hotel for us saying you'll be lucky to find anything as it is the weekend. I had to plead with him to find an alternative hotel which he did and found one around the side street called Hotel Airport Florence. I told him this was very unprofessional and I was not happy which it didn't seem to phase him.
Try and avoid this hotel. Lacks customer service.
The hotel airport around the corner were sympathetic and the room was clean, air conditioned and up to standard.

We had the worst experience of our Italian vacation at the NORD FLorence,,,,,believe it or not , they had NO AIR CONDITIONONG The temperatura at the room was above 30 degrees and no air, NO APOLOGIES, NO FANS,, NO REFUNDS , NO EXPLANATION, NO VENTILATORS, Only heat and sweat all night

By 2 am my wife and kids coul not take it anymore and we moved out in the middle of the noght, Impossible to sleep in a sauna.

Management does not seem to care, as we saw no one fixing the Air Conditionong, The nice person at the front desk coul not explain a thing as he too was suffering in a suit and tie.

Oustanding city is Florence, terrible experience in this hotel sauna

Room Tip: Do not book in advance until you arrive and make sure air conditionin Works, Or you will be in...

We choose this hotel because it's location near the Florence airport and thought it would be a good value for money because it included breakfast. Hotel classifies itself as a four star hotel which it is definately not. Rooms are dark, untidy and very oldfashioned. Noises coming from the street is very loud. Entrance hall was also loud, phones rang all the time and staff was rushing around.

When we arrived, we were told that the airconditioning don't work, it was + 30 degrees outside and staff asked if we wanted to change a hotel. We choose to stay if we can have a fair discount. Discount was promised but next morning, when we checked out, staff said that discount is not possible because nobody haven't informed the person about the discount who was behind the desk that morning.

Before checking in we also asked about possibility to have a cold breakfast or something to eat because our departure was before breakfast opened and it was included in the price. Usually airport hotels offers at least coffee and some bread due to early departure. Staff promised they will arrange something to eat or take-away. Well, in the morning we were told that people working in the kitchen comes later and nothing could be arranged. We chose to stay in this hotel under these two conditions but neither of the promises wasn't kept.

We were really ashtounished about the lack of understanding and hotel managers unwillingness to give discount because of the clear problem with airconditioning. TV didn't work either. We payed almost 100 euros for a night in this lousy hotel. We recommend to choose another hotel, if staying near Florence airport.

The hotel is OK, the rooms are clean even though all looks a bit old-fashioned (like tourist hotels in 70's or 80's). Keys still traditional and left at the reception when you leave. The receptionists are nice and helpful. Safe parking with ca. 40 places, limited number. Close to bus stop - it takes around 20 minutes by bus to reach centre of Florence. If you come by car, it's convenient, because it's relatively close to the motorway, and you don't have to enter the center of the city, where traffic is hectic and there are traffic zones with entry just for locals (Zona Traffico Limitato, ZTL - don't enter if you don't have permission).

I arrived at the hotel with my family and came 4 nights. The room was dirty, under the beds did not wash the floor for over a month. Linens for 4 nights not changed even once. In the bathroom constantly, something fell off; draining the sink did not work, in the soul too. The district was not safe for 3 nights the whole family was awakened by a bloodcurdling scream from the street. In the morning, in front of the hotel were several police cars and ambulances, what happened? I could not know, but the cries and many emergency cars left a lot of discomfort. On 2 day, after breakfast in 30 minutes , I felt bad and I had to resort to doctor. That would normalize my condition and do not spoil the rest of my family. I was very disappointed this hotel.

To be perfectly honest: we knew that this hotel would not be the best in show. It was recommended to us by some friends staying there previously and we decide to book it because of free parking and a good price as compared to hotels in Florence city centre. We have also followed the advice from some other reviewers and asked for a room on the first floor (and got it). What we can say is that the room was clean, the staff friendly and helpful, but everything else was really poor. The whole hotel has a shabby appearance, it is somehow frozen in time in the 80s, including the furniture, curtains (of suspicious cleanliness) and blankets that reminded my husband of his time in the army. The breakfast is the real shame, not worth the 2 star hotel. And this is definitively not a 4 star hotel, under no circumstances. Anyway, we utterly enjoyed our time in Florence and the hotel was not so important. But, it could do with some improvements, especially for the price we paid. In addition, our room had no wi fi due to the fact that it was on the corner...

Room Tip: Ask for the room on the first floor, but try not to be in the room on the corner (108, 109, 110), as...
