“Convenient and good location”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

I stayed in this hotel last year for few nights. At first we were a bit confused in finding the place since it's tucked in between small streets in Florence. It didn't look that big from the facade but the room was quite big actually.
The staffs were very hospitable and helpful, breakfast was also good. It wasn't something fancy but I was really happy with everything.
I guess the hotel was quite old but well maintained, big bed and roomy bathroom area. the room was surprisingly quite, considering the location is in the city center.
The train station is very close to the hotel, and there are many good restaurants around the hotel.
I would recommend this place since it's within walking distance to major tourist attractions, like the Cathedral, Santa Maria Novella (just across the street) and of course the famous leather shops. oh you have to visit San Lorenzo market, unfortunately during summer many shops would close, but worth the visit. and the beauty of it, you can walk from the hotel.

We were welcomed warmly by genuinely helpful staff who made our stay most enjoyable.
The rooms were tastefully furnished and air conditioned and the hotel's central location made our exploration of the City on foot very convenient .
It's position also meant that a short walk takes you to the Santa Maria Novella rail terminus allowing easy access to the rest of Tuscany

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a recent visit to Florence. The location was very convenient, but unfortunately the room was not that flats. The pillows were the most uncomfortable I have ever had in a hotel and even with 3 pilled on top of one another they still felt like a flat ple of bricks. The breakfast was nothing to rave about and the wi-fi also very average! Perhaps choose this hotel if you bring your own pillow! I'm still trying to get rid of my sire neck!

When we arrived at Pisa Airport we were pleasantly surprised that we could catch a coach outside the arrivals hall straight to Florence Railway Station for only €6 each, and the hotel was only five minutes walk away. The staff were efficient and friendly, the rooms were clean and had air conditioning included in the price of the hotel, very necessary in July.
At breakfast although continental, there was plenty of choice.
The hotel was within easy walking distance of all the famous sites in Florence, and I would definitely recommend the Hotel Machiavelli to anyone who wanted a reasonably priced hotel with easy access to airport and sites.

The Machiavelli Palace stays at about 300 metres from Firenze Central Train Station and about 15 minutes walking from The Dome - it's very central and you can go by foot to everywhere in Firenze.

The conditions are not that good... the chambers are old, the toillets are not good at all and the breakfast (that is mandatory to "buy" in the package) don't have almost anything...

Didn't like much this hotel!

The hotel was in walking distance from the station and a good base for exploring Florence. It was close to shops, sites, restaurants and cafes.

We were disappointed with the bedroom, which was small and the beds were very hard. On the plus side, we had a good view from our window of the Duomo and the bathroom was excellent.
We had booked standard rooms, so the photographs on the website must be the superior rooms.

One nice feature of the hotel, which we really enjoyed, was the roof terrace where we could sit on an evening and enjoy a quiet drink with a lovely view.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room. Our room was standard and while it would have been ok for one night, was to...

We made a pit stop in Florence on our tour trough Italy last June. We stayed at the MP for two nights. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the train station and the local buses. Our room was a regular double, located on the third floor down some very long hall way. It had air-conditioning, but it seemed to strain to keep up with the heat that was going on outside. There was a mini-bar, safe, and WiFi. Everything was basic in the room, but it was super clean, especially the bathroom. The bed pillows are like pancakes and I had to request more for comfort. Breakfast was good, but I didn't care for the coffee auto-mat.
The location was perfect. It was in walking distance to everything we wanted to see, like the Duomo, Galleria Accademia, Uffizi and many others. Many reasonable restaurants are near by. Also, it was very nice in the evenings to walk the small streets, sit in the restaurants, sip a beverage and people watch. There's also a large indoor market place only a few of blocks away that's nice to go through. On weekdays there are vendors and their goods with fresh vegetables, fruit, cheeses, etc. Keep in mind that on the weekends there are less things open.

Room Tip: Maybe try to get something closer to the elevator.
