“Clean, central location and friendly”
Reviewed 25 August 2011

A beautiful hotel set in a central location of Florence with easy access to all main sights and with the train station a 15-20 min walk away for trips to Pisa only an hour away. The rooms are finished to an excellent standard and are kept clean with fresh towels every day and all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast has a good selection available but you do have to book to enjoy an evening meal in the beautiful tower dining room, alas I didn't get to sample the evening meal but the menu looked fantastic.
Aside from this the local restaurants provide excellent meals which vary in price but do expect to see identical menus from place to place.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Florence and couldn't have stayed in a better hotel with a great history to it.

Location Location Location!!!! View of Duomo from bedroom window, beautiful room, very comfortable bed and the nicest bathroom ever!!!! We spent two nites last week and wish it could have been longer....would not hesitate to stay here again if we ever are fortunate enough to revisit Florence. The waitstaff were wonderful, and Alessandro and Claudio at the bar are just outstanding! I can't say enough good things about staying here!!! Room 406 is just beautiful!

We decided to stay at the Brunelleschi for one night on our way to Rome and it was one of the highlights of our trip!

When we arrived at the hotel we were informed they had reserved the pool suite for us (we had only booked a standard room). Once we got to the room though we were blown away. Over three levels it was bigger than our house, with a separate sitting area, walk in wardrobe, a bathroom with a double whirlpool bath and a four poster bed. It had its own balcony with yet another jacuzzi and a stunning view of the Duomo which could also be seen out of our bedroom window. My wife particularly like the Nescafe machine in the room!

With only half a day in Florence we were seriously torn between staying in the room or exploring the city!

We did see the standard rooms walking about the hotel and have to say I would have been more than happy with them as well. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice and one of the best we had in Italy.

The location was also fantastic and is just off of the Duomo and within easy walking distance of other sites. We will definitely be returning when we come back for a longer stay in Florence.

We recently stayed at the Brunelleschi and it was a wonderful hotel. Excellent location, the room was beautifully decorated & very cozy. The hotel staff was very helpful, and the breakfast was good. This was our favorite hotel in Italy that we stayed in, and I would highly recommend the Brunelleschi. My one comment would be to request a room away from the staircase (it is located in the middle of the floor & you can hear noise from anyone walking).

Unfortunately we could only spend two nights at this wonderful hotel. We were extremely impressed from the moment we walked through the doors. There is a real feeling of luxury from the moment you arrive. Reception is always busy but the service is very professional.

The room itself was fantastic. Separate small lounge with wall mounted TV; bed room with king size four poster bed and second wall mounted TV; Nespresso machine with complimentary coffee; walk in wardrobe; huge bathroom that included a spa bath and wet room shower. We were blown away by the quality of fixtures and fittings -amazing!

The location is also extremely convenient with a whole host of eateries, entertainment venues and of course the sights within easy walking distance. This really helped when we needed to return to the hotel to freshen up in the searing temperatures!

The breakfast buffet offered an excellent selection and the service was very efficient. Be warned that ordering coffee for breakfast results in a pot of instant coffee.

We also decided to eat in the Santa Elisabetta restaurant in the tower as a treat. It was a very romantic setting and the service was extremely attentive. The food was beautifully presented and of good quality, although a little on the pricey side.

This was definitely the most impressive and luxurious hotel we stayed in in Italy during a 15 day stay and we would not hesitate to recommend it to others. We shall definitely return.

The outside is an old church which is magnificent. Centrally-located which was so convenient to venture out and see things.

Inside was a beautiful, upscale, trendy, newly-renovated. Beds so comfortable. Shower was huge. Neat, clean, comfortable. Big flat screen tv in room. Wake up call on television set was a great feature...you felt like you were waking up in heaven.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Internet service pricey.

Would definitely return. We selected the hotel based on personal recommendation from a friend. We were given a handicapped accessible room overlooking the Via dei Calzaioli and the Migone store. We could watch them decorate the Christmas tree in the forecourt of the Duomo from our room.

The main entrance is down a small laneway, so a good map or taxi are a must. The hotel was in the midst of renovations, making the entrance a little muddy, but we had no issues with construction noise.

Having just been renovated, the room was lavishly decorated, had plenty of comfortable places to sit, good storage, although overall it was one of the smallest rooms we stayed in...with the largest washroom. The wheelchair accessible shower (no tub) had a powerful showerhead - We flooded the bathroom a few times, but soon figured out how to get the shower to drain quickly. There was also lots of counter space. It was a dream washroom - as long as you don't mind that the internal walls are frosted glass. Good WiFi signal strength in the room, a good sized desk and daily turndown service made our stay even more comfortable.

The only part of the stay that was below par was the breakfast. It was very average - some of the pastries were obviously two days old and certainly not baked in-house, but there was a good selection of other items to choose from that made up for it and the coffee was excellent .

Service was excellent - as expected in this type of hotel. The front desk was able to secure last minute tickets to galleries that were sold out on line, recommended excellent local restaurants and housekeeping was quiet and efficient.

Overall, skip the pastries and have a wonderful stay.
