A great hotel in a great location. The staff were largely friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that a few overdid it. We did get lost in the narrow streets to start with but the map they provide is helpful. I would certainly go again.

We just came back from our tour of Italy and I must say that the time spent in Florence and especially at Hotel Brunelleschi was the absolute highlight of our trip. The hotel, staff, location, and breakfast were outstanding. We were fortunate enough to stay in the tower suite, an absolute must if you can! The staff bend over backwards for you and the hotel itself is elegant and immaculate. We will definitely be returning to this gem of an establishment! A special thank you to Mario for making it all happen for us.

Room Tip: If you can treat yourselves and stay in the tower suite, you will not regret it!

great location, beautiful hotel. wish we could have stayed longer! Not only did they provide an extra cot so that my three children could share a room, but they guaranteed twin beds instead of a double, and provided rooms close together. My only comment was that the bed was a bit hard, but not a big concern.

I loved this hotel, great location, staff was helpful; however, make sure when you book that you ask for a room with a bigger shower. The shower we had was miniscule. Literally it was probably 24" x 18". Our daughter got a normal size shower, 4' x 4'. And the rooms desperately needed some drawer space.

Dear Guest,
we appreciate your desire to share with us your experience at the Brunelleschi, it allows us to
improve our services and to continue our commitment to meet our Guests’ expectations.
First of all we would like to thank you for the high rating for the staff attitude.
Our room sizes and accordingly our bathrooms vary per category and we would be pleased to have the opportunity to show you the alternatives on a future occasion (it could be your children had a deluxe or larger room as triple).
The Brunelleschi Hotel was built in three ancient buildings, one of them the byzantine Tower La Pagliazza. Its architectural renovation may be a bit ecliptic, including the furniture provided in the room, designed to allow the easiest access.
We would be honored to have you as our guest again in the future and please feel free to refer to the feedback you have provided us with when you make your next reservation. Doing so will allow us to offer you a special welcome in what we hope will be your home during your stay in Florence.

We were suppose to stay here 2 nights but upon chk-in we were told due to a flood we were booked at a sister property:palazzo vecchietti for one night. That place was 5 star absolutely perfect!!! Our room was upgraded to a jr suite for the inconvenience. The room was nice but it had outdated decor, a beat up love seat sofa and terrible wifi throughout the hotel. Its also a pain to take 2 elevators to get to your room bc the original hotel was very small and with the expansion they needed to add a second elevator to access rooms. I dont think Id stay here again. I wish I could rate 1/2 stars bc I would give it a 3.5 its better than average but not quite excellent. I would however LOVE to stay at palazzo vecchietti, it is the definition of true luxury!

Dear Guest,
first of all I want to apologize for what happened at your arrival, at same time very happy that you enjoyed the accomodation we found for your stay.

Due to the historical origin of the three buildings forming the Hotel Brunelleschi (Pagliazza Tower, the oldest Tower in the city, San Michele in Palchetto Church and the ancient Hotel facing Via Calzaiuoli) it was not possible to create a unique floor map. Our architect planned a panoramic lift to the first floor, with a passage to rooms overlooking Via Calzaiuoli. A Museum was also created in the Tower, to exhibit the carefully restored archeological finds and photographic documentation of ceramics and the Tower’s origin. I am sorry that you were not made aware of the long history of the Hotel and the refurbishment; we will improve our standard with this purpose.

We cannot change what happened, but we hope that the atmosphere given by our Staff attitude and our Service could be attractive for another stay at the Brunelleschi. Regarding the room, please contact me and I am sure we will able to find the best solution for you !
I remain at your complete disposal, best regards

A wonderful hotel with nice modern updates. Located on a main street but quiet enough that except for a siren or outside music in the evening, the street noise is not a bother.

The room is large enough with plenty of space to move around. We had 4 Classic Executive rooms and while they were all nicely appointed and spacious, each room was slightly different.

One thing to be mentioned is the speed of the housekeeping. We joked that every time we called the front desk for additional towels, shampoo, tissue paper, etc., we barely got off the phone before they were knocking on the door.

The staff there is great and we especially liked Alan and Paulus. Do yourself a favor and get to know Paulus while you are there. He is a one of a kind, funny person who will make sure all of your needs and requests are met.

One quirky feature is that the main entrance to the hotel is behind the front of the hotel in what seems to be an alley for Americans, but other than some difficulty getting cars and vans in and out it’s not a problem.

A very nice hotel in a nice location.

We stayed at the Brunelleschi Hotel for three nights in June 2014 booked through British Airways.

First of all, we must say that if you can stretch your budget to stay here, then do so. You will not regret it! Beautiful hotel in a great central location with wonderful, pleasant staff.

We arrived from Pisa by train and the hotel is roughly a 15 minute walk from the main station (Novella). We were greeted like family and upon check we chose to upgrade to the Bargello Suite for a very reasonable rate.

Hotel - great location tucked away in a nice, quiet piazza on its own and under a five minute walk to the Duomo. Beautifully decorated, clean and very atmospheric.

Room - the suite (Room 503) was immaculate, had fantastic views of the Duomo to the left, Palazzo Vecchio to the right and Santa Croce right in front. Large rain style shower, whirlpool bath and walkin closet. Seating area was a great place to rest your feet and chill out before venturing out again. Beds were lovely and very comfortable. Air conditioning worked a dream, but we kept opening the windows to look out on the great view!

Breakfast - wonderful spread meeting everyone's needs. Everything is very fresh and staff attend to your every need.

Restaurant/bar - we did not eat in the restaurant but had a night cap every night outside in the piazza bar, again staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

We note the comments about the stairs and various lifts and can be an issue if you are disabled and do not want a long walk to your room. But please remember that this is a hotel situated in various buildings around the oldest tower in Florence (1600 years old) so will have some quirks. That is the joy of the hotel and part of its charm. The hotel is very tastefully and sympathetically decorated.

We did not experience any noise even with the windows open at night, the only thing that woke us were the swifts in the morning flying about for their breakfast which is the best alarm you can have.

Stay here and you will not regret it!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor to get some great views. The suites are well worth it.
