I liked this hotel! Especially decoration inside. My room was small but cosy and with big glasses to the shower bath :) it is so romantic ;) very good service and location. minus is rather poor breakfast as for the 4 star hotel, but anyway it was good. guests were mostly people after 50... ;)
just back from 5 nights in florence and the hotel cellai...i dont know where to begin,,the room we had was a twin for me and my daughter...room 102,,lovely and big for europe,,air con ,,,nice tv,,,big beds ,,very gorgeous ,,,the staff were amazing really really lovely and all so helpful,,really made the stay pleasant ,,,breakfast room nice ,,,breakfast was fine lots of choices,,,view from terrace very nice,,,florence on your doorstep ,,,wi-fi not bad,,bit iffy at times,,,i just cant sing its praises enough,,,people saying its a bit tired and stuff must go to really really good hotels is all i can think ,,,and also people who say the waiters etc are a bit rude must be the same people you see who treat staff like inferiors,,,,be nice ,,be polite,,,show respect and you get it right back!,,,,by the way this building is a well restored nunnery!so you can well imagine little nun rooms and all the goings on and its inspirational,,,by the way it was my first time in florence and yes it was hot (30degrees)but it wont be my last its an amazing city ,,,ive been to a lot of places,,,if youre deciding ,,,go!
apparently this hotel has both new (refurbished) and old ('traditional' 'antique') rooms - we got an old room which, though spacious (with a separate sitting room) was tired and desperately in need of a refresh. bed was a bit soft and tired, housekeeping not up to par, the room was dusty and there were random stray (curly) hairs in the shower. there was also a constant smell of sewage in the hallways. beware the tiny shower stall - so small you will keep bumping into the tap! also nowhere to hang towels, clothes etc in the bathroom. the rest of the hotel is furnished in traditional antique 'period' style, so if you like that sort of thing, you might like this hotel, but i'd rather have less character and more comfort.
I just came back from florence i stayed in this lovely and confortable hotel. The breakfast was very good and rich.
The location is very strategic. The staff was very nice and friendly. They gave lots of informations about the city.
After a long walk we went in the fantastic terrace where there was an honesty bar and we had an aperitif with the suset.
We had a lovely time there!
It is a very elegant hotel.
i am just back after a lovely week i loved the hotel and the beautiful furniture the staff were very nice the african man at the breakfast could not do enough for you he is very efficent and a great peoples person he should be trained up as a hotel manager its not every day you get all that talant
Stayed 1 night in the hotel passing by Florence.
What can I tell:
Pluses:
- good location;
- good service;
- good breakfast;
- nice terrace on the 4th floor;
- very nice interior design.
Minuses:
- rooms are a bit old equipped and smelly;
- smell not good outside rooms (old carpets);
- not nice bathroom;
- a bit pricy for what they offer.
Would recommend to stay just 1-2 nights
