“Adorable place”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

During my trip around Europe I spent few nights in this Boutique Hotel.
It is a real adorable place where to stay, extremely well decorated with really nice furniture and decorations.
The staff at the reception was extremely helpful and kind and even the staff at the breakfast was very kind and nice and they made us delicious cappuccinos. Everything was adorable from the bedrooms, to the bar, to the decorations, to the several different living rooms and up to the cozy rooftop.
It was a real pleasant stay.

Room Tip: our room was adorable quiet small but very clean, comfortable and silent.

A gem of a hotel full of character and quirkiness .
Loved the furnishings and art work in all the public rooms and the fantastic feature of the honesty bars.
The roof terrace was lovely and nice touches like afternoon tea and free bikes made the experience all the better.
The breakfast room is wonderful and the breakfast is good.
We had room 402 with a with a dome view and was very comfortable and clean.
Hotel Cellai is easy to walk to from the central station about 10-15 mins and the staff were all very helpful and informative.
There are many restaurants all within walking distance and the main attractions too are within easy reach by foot.
Florence is a lovely city and this hotel will bring it to life.
Finally I am a Travel Agent and would say if you like boutique, arty hotels and friendly service this is the place to go.
If you are used to modern chain hotels then try and find one but you are missing out what is a cool place to be.

Room Tip: I believe some rooms are refurbished but room 402 was fine albeit a small bathroom

In our first trip to Florence, this was our favorite of 3 hotels in Italy. Florence was our favorite city between Rome and Venice. This boutique hotel was so unique with many sitting rooms around the first floor. It had an artsy feel and was really casually chic. There was an eclectic and special feel to the place. My husband and I shared a room adjacent to our 2 teenage boys. Both rooms were spacious with flat screen tvs. Not too many stations but we are spoiled and didn't really stay in the room anyway. Hotel location is great and the rooftop garden with wicker chairs and a wrought iron bed was a relaxing retreat. Go higher up the spiral stairs with a fantastic view of the city!

We spent 2 days borrowing the free bicycles and travelling all around the city. Highly recommend doing this! Bikes were in good condition with a basket on front and a crate in back. Covered more of the city than we could on foot and at our own pace. Took a bit of skill to bike among the pedestrians but worth it. Also biked off all the gelato. We went on a group tour but enjoyed the freedom of the bicycles. So many must sees in Florence as well as enjoying the alleyways.

Staff was polite and met all our needs. Breakfast(included) had plenty of choices including scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurt , croissants, and granola. It and was set up in a very quaint dining room with waitstaff to provide cappuccinos as requested. Both the rooftop and lobby bar have an honor bar. Didn't use it but a nice option to have.

My only complaints were the shower and air conditioning in our room. My kids' room got comfortably cool but our air conditioner just made it bearable, not cool. Some may like the full mirrored bathroom. I found the mirror in the shower a bit much (of me). Could use an actual shower curtain. There was just a liner which I didn't enjoy wrapped around me which didn't even cover the length of the shower. Made for a very wet floor.

Otherwise, we all had a great stay here. This hotel was very unique and super comfortable in its decor, I highly recommend it!

I have stayed for two nights in this cozy boutique hotel. I am very fond of decorations, arts and beauty, so I had really loved staying in this place where all this factors that I love surrounded me everywhere. Everything was perfect, even the location was great just in the city centre only few meters from the stunning Duomo Cathedral. The bedroom was great very cozy and comfortable; the breakfast was marvallous with this buffet that offers a variety of tasty and delicious products like the home made cake and coissant.
It is a really a lovely place it is just like a piece of art.
I highly reccomend as it is a very unusual and lovely place!

Room Tip: My room was very very nice extremely well decorated with many nice photos in black and white

I liked this hotel! Especially decoration inside. My room was small but cosy and with big glasses to the shower bath :) it is so romantic ;) very good service and location. minus is rather poor breakfast as for the 4 star hotel, but anyway it was good. guests were mostly people after 50... ;)

apparently this hotel has both new (refurbished) and old ('traditional' 'antique') rooms - we got an old room which, though spacious (with a separate sitting room) was tired and desperately in need of a refresh. bed was a bit soft and tired, housekeeping not up to par, the room was dusty and there were random stray (curly) hairs in the shower. there was also a constant smell of sewage in the hallways. beware the tiny shower stall - so small you will keep bumping into the tap! also nowhere to hang towels, clothes etc in the bathroom. the rest of the hotel is furnished in traditional antique 'period' style, so if you like that sort of thing, you might like this hotel, but i'd rather have less character and more comfort.
