The reviews on this hotel really do not tell the whole story. I am not a fussy person, all I ask is a clean room that I can come home to after exploring. This hotel is tired to say the least. It looks as though it was lovely 20 years ago and no maintenance has been done since!
I must say that the staff were nice and helpful, but it ends there.
The room we had looked out over another building so was very dark. We were on the second floor and is sounded as though there was a family above us as there was constant noise of scraping chairs and footsteps until about 10.30-11pm. The room was clean-ish, the floor was really dusty around the edges and the furniture was chipped and in need of repair. All this I could live with. It was the bathroom that stopped me in my tracks!
The shower was black around the edges and the foot shelf part was literally tapped on with black mold all in the tape. The toilet was propped with with a rough piece of wood and the sink was yuk. Next time, I would demand a refund and leave to find another hotel. The photos really don't show how bad it actually was.

This hotel was one of the worst I've been to, but I haven't been to too many bad ones. Bonciani's rooms were so old and destroyed. Breakfast was a joke, the pictures that look good on Trip Advisor were deceiving, the bad ones were the honest ones. Sorry to say, I wouldn't recommend this to another Family, maybe just a stop by for a day or two and goodbye.

Staff was very help full, had and issue with the shower and it was fixed immediately, breakfast good, location is excellent near Santa Maria Novella station, the Duomo, Mercato, etc. The hotel needs to be remodeled and updated.

This hotel is steps from the train station. Perfect location as a base to explore this wonderful city and the region. The staff were very helpful and the elevator worked. The decor was a bit passe. The bathrooms were clean, so was the room. Breakfast was included.

First impressions really do count and this hotel really did need a makeover. It was dark and gloomy and we had to leave lights on in the room so that we didn't walk into the bed on the way in. However we did find that the room was pretty clean- providing you didn't look too closely! Breakfast was pretty bog standard for Italy and the staff were friendly enough. Very expensive for the accommodation provided so all in all quite disappointing.
