Was hoping to get one of the modern rooms in the photo but ended up with an average room.

Room 109.. end of the corridor and above the pantry room. We could hear everything in the morning, room view was into a gap in the building, nothing special at all, so curtains where closed for 2 days!

Bed was comfy, TV was tiny, just did not get the feel i got my monies worth compared to the NH Anglo American hotel I stayed in the prior week.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATON
Best part about this hotel is the Location, for the price you cant complain but then again we all do.

Dont think I would stay here again, but like to thank the pleasant staff!

Room Tip: As for the room with the upgrades! Dont stay in 109.. me and the mrs got up to plenty action in ther...

First off, to mention before we left on our holiday, my wife obtained some alergies which would have been a nightmare for most hotels and there usual breakfasts, but at Unicorno the management went out of there way to find foods suitable for her and this made our stay so much better because it meant we could go out after a healthy start to the day!

Overall, the staff were brilliant, always kind and courteous and very helpful with our italian education. The location is 5 minutes from the main railway station and 5 minutes from the centre so you couldnt get any better.

The room was super clean, quiet and comfortable which was perfect as we only used it as a crash pad and was out all day. We had room 109 and found it ideal for our needs.

Would we recommend this hotel yes, would we stay there again yes, value for money, very much so!

Huge Thanks to the staff at Unicorno!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed the location. A pleasant walk to the main sights and not far from the train station. We were in a superior room. It was pretty tiny - a lot smaller than the photos. Everything is decorated in dark wood which makes it look quite dusty and cramped. It almost seems unfinished with exposed light fixtures and plastering.
The toilet was extremely narrow - 2 people can't pass each other in there - and the shower and sink were both uncomfortably small. Typical for European cities I suppose but I felt a bit duped by the photos of large airy superior rooms.
I liked that the minibar was cheap! Same price as a corner shop for water or beer!
The staff were helpful when asked. Beware the website says that they have irons for guest use but it turns out that that is not true. In fact you can give one item of clothing to be ironed by housekeeping each day. Luckily I had emailed in advance to check (because my husband is an ironing fiend), and since they had said they had one they had to let me use it in the room. Apparently it's the Italian law- we had the same issue in Rome so at least now I know- but wasn't impressed with the mixed messaging on their website and email replies.
Another strange thing was having to hand your key in every time you leave. I was concerned anyone could have just come and asked for the key - certainly when there were new staff members on the desk they didn't ask us for ID.
Good value for money in an expensive city like Firenze

Location of this hotel was perfect and close to the train station.

Breakfast was nice although the coffee was not great. Staff were very friendly and the hot is right next to a very cheap cafe if you need any drinks or snacks etc

Were do I start!!!
The shower was the worst I have ever used, the bathroom was unclean. The room was stuffy with no natural light coming through as they kept closing the shutters. The staff were so rude. We got shouted at in Italian in front of everyone at the breakfast table beacuse we tried to help the waitress move plates so we could sit down.
The only good thing about this hotel is the excellent location. We stayed for 3 nights on honeymoon and it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.

Hotel Unicorno is just a couple of blocks away from the Florence, SMN, train station and within walking distance of all of the major attractions in Florence. The reception greeted us warmly when we arrived and gave a quick orientation to Florence. We had to carry our bags up half a flight of steps to the small elevator. The room was the average European size, but the bathroom was larger than in most European hotels. Since the hotel is in the heart of Florence, it can be a little noisy; but the hotel has upgraded the windows to double pane to block most of the noise. The breakfast was typical for hotels in this price range. This is a good place to stay if you want to be close to Florence culture.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not overlooking the street.

The location is excellent. The breakfast was good, with a lot of choices. Staff was exceptionally helpful. The room was clean and quiet -- they also were very environmentally friendly. The hotel looks a bit shabby but I believe it is to the fact that it has a lot of bookings and guests.
