Arriving late and completely shattered (no thanks to BA) the front of house staff couldn't do enough to make us welcome, booking in was easy and out bags whipped away to our room.
Asking for a quiet restaurant nearby that did small meals we were directed to the
'mangiafoco' wine bar and café only 50 yards from the hotel where we had a very good meal
and wine. We asked the concierge Massimiliano if he could arrange tickets for the Palatine
gallery for the next day. By the time we returned to the hotel a few hours later all had been
arranged at the time we wanted. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of hot and cold
food in a lovely room with plenty of room between tables. The small bar in the lounge
was snug and the barman very helpful in recommending the local wines to taste. Nearly
forgot the room which was on the 5th floor overlooking the river Arno with some wonderful
sunsets. Maid service was excellent it was like going into a new room each day.
Staff on the front desk were more that helpful with any requests we made and were bright
and cheerful. I would Recommend this hotel to anyone and its worth upgrading to a
river front room, go for a higher room its a bit quieter there or just close the window.
