“Difficult to fault........”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Booked here after reading all the reviews on tripadvisor which proved to be 100% accurate.Perfect location-about 15 mins stroll from the train/coach station but very close to all the major sights.Lovely room-helpful attentive staff-great breakfast. We loved the roof terrace and sat there around midnight when it was still very warm with a glass of prosecco. The hotel deserves all the good things guests have said about it.Excellent.

Room Tip: I saw some with private balconies which would be great if you wanted to pay a bit more.

Dear Guests,
thank you for posting your comments online.
We are extremely pleased that you found our hotel to be “excellent”. Reviews have been helping us during the years to try and improve our service and we take every single one very seriously. Our terrace on the 4th floor offers a nice area to relax and enjoy the sun while having a drink, reading or simply enjoying being with friends.
Some of our junior suites also offer a balcony.
Kind regards.

So many hotels to choose from in Florence it was hard to pick one for our first few nights in Tuscany. Have to say we were not disappointed with our choice. Got a great last minute deal and were delighted to find the hotel was in the most perfect location for a trip to Florence. Our room had no view to speak of (looked out at a wall...) but I guess this was reflected in the room rate and anyway we didn't intend to spend much time in the room. On the whole we found staff very pleasant and there were lots of choices at the usual continental breakfast you find everywhere in the Med. Hotel is walking distance from bus / train station and all the major sites. Definitely one to recommend. Will rate this hotel 4, with a view from our room it would have been a 5!

Room Tip: If you want a room with a view, specify this in your booking or pay for the superior rooms (our room...

Dear Guests,
thank you for sharing your comment online.
Florence offers indeed many good hotels to choose from therefore we are happy you chose us and did not get disappointed. We have many different offers on our site including last minute ones. Price does of course influence the type of room assigned but this is not the only factor; we have to take care of families wishing to have rooms as close as possible, honeymooners, anniversaries, clients requesting no steps, quiet rooms, river view, suites, junior suites, rooms with balconies, rooms not close to lifts, etc. Please believe that matching all above requests takes a lot of attention and planning.

Your suggestion about river view rooms is correct but river view rooms are only a limiter number.

Kind regards.

Matter with this hotel is kindness. Arrived very tired and very late they take care of my car bringing it to the garage, they offer to prepare sandwiches (do not have restaurant) or a place where to find good food very close to the hotel. They help me in catering while my business meeting, they receive my delieveris while I was round Florence for Pitti, they help me a lot while leaving.
Room they give me was delicious. The hotel is an historical hotel in Florence, very close to city centre, few footsteps to Ponte Vecchio, full of antiques disseminatinated wherever. I suggest it strongly. Thank you all, at Berchielli.

We are really pleased that your stay with us was very enjoyable and full of “magic” moments.
Your words describe perfectly what we are daily trying to offer to our guests: “attention and care”. Believe us if we say that when clients let us understand that they received the feelings you mention we become proud of our job.

The Berchielli Hotel in Florence, Italy was the best hotel we stayed at, and would recommend it to any of our friends & family. The first room we were given had an issue with water dripping onto the bed from the ceiling. It appeared as if the evaporator water pipe for the A/C was clogged. This caused a drip from the ceiling. They immediately moved us to a new room, and we were happy with the promptness, courtesy, and apologetic staff. The bathroom size in both rooms was excellent and felt more closer to the U.S. sized bathrooms. We had a comfortable bed, TV, window, and desk lamps. The breakfast area in the 2nd floor meeting room was by far the best we had on our trip to Europe. The staff were polite, and the selection choices for even vegetarians was ample. I love having fresh fruit in the morning!

The location is excellent being near the center of the city near the shopping areas & walking distance to the Museo de Accademia. The hotel is tuck away in a small narrow street, however once you enter you feel like royalty.

If/when we can afford to visit florence again, I won't hesitate to stay at the Hotel Berchielli.

Room Tip: 2 Rooms we picked were both perfect. I'd be surprised if someone received a bad room.

Dear Guests,
our maintenance is very strict but we perfectly remember the A/C condensation problem with your first room on the sixth floor as it caused us a great embarrassment. We are pleased that our immediate concern was appreciated as we were really sorry for the inconvenience. Our bathrooms have all been renovated in the last few years and are generally well dimensioned. Your description of our breakfast room makes us very happy as the ownership has enriched it with precious paintings, statues and pottery. Staff keep getting very good comments and this is important.

We will wait for your next visit.

Kind regards.

We traveled by train and Florence was the 3rd stop. We walked about 4 blocks, with our luggage, and it was no problem. The hotel overlooks the Arno River, close to the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. We were able to walk all major attractions. The room was comfortable and clean. Big spread for breakfast with great service.

Dear Guests,
thank for publishing your comment online.
The main train station of Florence S.M.N. is in effect only 10/15 minutes away from us therefore an easy walk trough a nice area of the city. We are pleased that you found your room to be comfortable
and of course clean as the quality of cleanliness is at the top of our attention. Apparently our breakfast staff keep having the right attitude and this can only make us happy.

Kind regards.

My girlfriend recently booked this hotel as a treat for my 50th birthday. She booked way in advance and specified a double room. We arrived prior to check-in and were allowed to check in and leave our case at the hotel until our room was ready. On returning we were shown to our room which had two single beds. We again requested a double bed from the receptionist, Filippo, who stated he would get the house keeping to make the two single beds into a double. Once again we inquired if there were any double beds available. After much deliberation and clear distaste a key was pushed onto the reception desk and we were told "that has a double bed". This whole experience marred the start of what was a fantastic trip. Although we are appreciative that he is entitled to his own views on lesbians its a shame he has to let it affect the way he carries out his job. The hotel we could not fault for comfort, cleanliness and location.

We stayed for four nights in late July, mother and two adult daughters. We were delighted with our room, which as requested had three beds, was on an upper floor (5th) at the back of the hotel and was extremely quiet. Wholly unexpectedly, it had a large and entirely private terrace attached: much accomplished popping of corks there by Daughter Number 1 in the evenings. Daughter Number 2 (Shower Queen) had no complaints about the bathroom and Mother was overwhelmed by the choice and quality of the breakfasts, which even included a cooked option (and no cooking, ha ha). The staff were lovely, the whole hotel was clean and beautiful. Plus a second-to-none location! We let mosquitoes in (our fault entirely): the hotel was BRILLIANT.

Room Tip: Try asking for 506; no view over the Arno but authentic and quiet, with that private terrace!

Dear Guests,
thank you for giving our hotel the highest score and for calling it as “BRILLIANT".
We are so happy that all family enjoyed the stay with us. As mentioned in the past we pay much attention on room requirements and depending on the availability of the day we try to please every single client and in general we succeed. Few of our rooms offer a terrace so it is nice to read that you appreciated it. Our full buffet breakfast keeps getting very good comments therefore we will make sure to keep this high quality. Mosquitoes can appear occasionally so we always suggest to keep windows closed mainly at night.

We hope to welcome you soon.

Kind regards.
