My husband and I recently stayed at the Berchielli both before and after our Tuscany villa rental. Both times we were very pleased with everything. Our rooms were exactly what we asked for and were ready mid-afternoon. We booked a river view for both stays and were glad we did. These rooms are large (by European standards) and both had two large windows over looking the river. The baths were nicely done and extremely clean. Yes, the first did not have a shower curtain, but we worked with it. (The second bath did have one.) The other nice aspect of our rooms were how quiet they were. We heard no noise from within the hotel, and despite the location on the river, the street outside the hotel is not busy at night. The location is hard to beat. Other than the Academy and San Marco, we were only a ten minute walk to most locations and less to the Uffizi.
The staff was always pleasant and helpful. When we told them we would miss breakfast on the last morning because of an early plane flight, they ordered a boxed breakfast for us to take with us! Otherwise, breakfast in the dining area was excellent. I would definitely highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
