This hotel is in a great location, just on the outskirts of the city centre. The room was very clean, well air-conditioned, and looked out onto the hotel's beer garden.

Like many hotels, if you want to have breakfast, don't leave it until the last minute, otherwise the dining room will be full. Breakfast is pretty good - fresh coffee, plus the usual array of juice, fruit, croissants, cheese & ham, and chocolate and vanilla sponge cakes (if that's what floats your boat at 9am!)

The staff (a family-run business?) were very polite, and happily booked us a taxi for our departure.

If you can get a good deal, then I would recommend a stay here.

We spent only one night at this charming hotel, but was still treated as VIP. They help park your car, which can br tricky in Florence. Rooms nice and breakfast really good.
The hotel is situated just outside the restricted area, so You can reach it by car and still only have ten mints walk to Ponte Vecchio.
We will use it again if (or when) we go back to Florence

Great value, clean, lovely and wonderful location. Not sure what else anyone could ask for in a hotel! The breakfast was divine with cappuccinos made on request. The staff could not be more helpful. The facilities are spotless. Our room had a view of the Arno, but was quiet enough that we slept with the window open at night. Perfect.

The location is perfect. It is a short walk from Palazzo Vecchio or Ponte Vecchio along the Arno. I love navigating without a map to and from our hotel.

Room Tip: The view of the Arno is my favorite feature of several of the rooms, but they are all clean and love...

When I returned to the hotel after a day's exploring I felt at ease. The owners were always welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble. The owners are very kindly posting a print I left behind to my home address in Australia.
My room was cosy yet quite spacious for a single room. It was on the first floor and had great views of the river Arno and Piazza Micaelangelo. Once the shutters and curtains were drawn it was quiet and I slept without being disturbed by street noise/traffic. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the city sites and also reasonably close to the railway station. I ate at the hotel each night and enjoyed the hearty and tasty home cooking. If you are looking for an affordable hotel, close to the city, with decent food this place fits the bill.

My sister and I stayed at The Privilege Hotel for 3 very enjoyable nights. Our tv was not working properly when we arrived however the owner (male) promptly switched it and fixed the problem -- all with a friendly smile and conversation. The owners speak English very well. Breakfast buffet was excellent with many choices. They provided us with a detailed street map, booked our taxis for us and greeted us warmly when we would return from our day. The hotel is a short walk from the Pont De Vecchio and the many piazzas (squares). Located in a safe area. I would without hesitation stay here for my next trip Florence!

This is an old-fashioned, cosy hotel facing the river Arno, only a few minute's walk from the centre of Florence.

We got a quiet room as requested ( Italian cities can be noisy), away from the road.
The room was fine, if a little cramped, with a very comfortable bed. The ensuite was tiny, with no bath and a typically small shower. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was reasonable - standard continental three star. It would have been nice to get a wider choice of teabags.
The staff were very good; friendly and informative.

When you leave, you get hit with the new tourist tax ; Italians don't like paying tax, so they get their visitors to do it. Cash only - Kerching !

We were very excited about our stay in Florence. We arrived late at night and were greeted by a very friendly male host. He was the friendliest of the two. The woman who works there was not the least bit friendly--we did not encounter her until our first morning. We were told we had a room with a view--it was, but before you reach the view of the river, you see the highway on which you were situated. It was so loud, I could hear the traffic through ear plugs and closed heavy curtains. It made it difficult to sleep.

Again, the man, I believe the owner, was SO very nice, so no disrespect to him for this review. One morning, our electricity went out, and when we merely went to let them know, the female host said "You must have done something wrong." We did not plug anything in other than the tea machine and the "space heater" which they provide as heat. No apologies from the woman.

The next day she corrected me quite coldly on my Italian. Again, when you are trying to learn the language, it is quite disheartening to be coldly reprimanded on your speaking. Our final day, we asked for help with booking an excursion to the chianti region. I sure wish the man was working, because again, the woman was quite "put off" with helping us. I don't know if it's because we are 28 and "not old enough" or what.

Overall, I wish the owner-host (male) was working all the time, because the woman was quite cold and rude to deal with. Very much like night and day---he was warm and helpful, and we truly avoided her at all cost.

On a relative budget, I would recommend this hotel for the sake of the (male) owner, just NOT room 101.

Room Tip: Room 101 was too loud to be enjoyable.
