Lovely, gracious, hotel. Our second trip to Europe and this hotel was our favorite. The staff made us feel so welcome. The nice young gentleman who worked the night shift was exceptional. The manager Barbara also was such a delight! Spacious room, quiet yet central location on the river, attentive service. My husband is particular about breakfast and he was totally satisfied-fresh fruit, yogurt, savory frittatas, tarts, yummy pastries, cereal, meats and cheeses, good coffee!

I stayed in Hotel Privilege this July while travelling with my grandmother and we both loved it. The manager Barbara was incredibly friendly and very helpful- when it turned out that I had lost my passport en route, she rang the airport and taxi company and returned the passport to me the next day. The bedrooms are clean, spacious and well air-conditioned and there is a wide variety of food for breakfast- cereal, fruit, pastries, toast, bread rolls, cold meats and cheese as well as hot and cold drinks. The hotel is right on the banks of the Arno, facing the tower of San Niccolo and is only about 10 minutes walk from the Uffizi, the Ponte Vecchio and the Piazza della Signoria and about 5 minutes away from Santa Croce Basilica. There's also a lovely covered garden/seating area outside to relax in if you feel sitting outside but don't feel like leaving the hotel. I really can't fault this hotel- a really wonderful discovery.

A very nice, owner-operated, botique hotel. Great location along the river within walking distance of most of historic Florence. Friendly, helpful service; very nice rooms; good breakfast. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at this hotel, which is conveniently situated along the River Arno. The room and bathroom were both good in size, and the air conditioning worked well. Wi fi in the room was spotty, however. The daily breakfast featured a wide variety of choices. The most notable aspect of the hotel was the staff. They were all just wonderful, always eager to help in any way they could and often going above and beyond our expectations. We recommend the Hotel Privilege to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and comfortable place to stay in Florence.

Stayed here for a week on my own in December 2012. I loved this hotel the owners were very helpful booking tours for me as well as giving me great advice about Florence in general. My room was perfect for one and included a large single bed, english tv and free wifi. Breakfast was wonderful with a large selection. Coffee is made how you like it. Location was very central and easy walking distance to everything needed. I know next time I come to Florence I will be staying here.

We visited Florence mid-May. After a bone-rattling trip in a taxi from the airport to the hotel (nothing to do with the hotel I should add), we arrived about 8pm and were really pleased to be welcomed by Barbara, one of the hotel managers, who has a lovely friendly demeanour. Barbara advised us that Florence was holding a special night of free entry to the museums and wine tasting in some of the piazzas, so urged us to dump our bags in our room and come back to her for directions into town. We did this and found it was just an easy walk along the riverbank to get to the Uffizi and begin our 4-night mini-break.

Our room was at the back of the hotel, a really good sized twin with a larger than average bathroom. I think it was a 'disabled' room, but with four steps down to it I'm not sure how you'd negotiate it with a walking disability (which wasn't an issue for either of us). There was a complimentary tray with coffee/English Breakfast tea/fruit teas and in the fridge, there were 4 bottles of still and sparkling water for us without charge. These little touches go a long way. The breakfast was really good for a continental style breakfast and we left feeling full each morning.

Really would recommend this hotel, the staff are doing a marvellous job and the location was perfect for us.

This hotel is in a great location, just on the outskirts of the city centre. The room was very clean, well air-conditioned, and looked out onto the hotel's beer garden.

Like many hotels, if you want to have breakfast, don't leave it until the last minute, otherwise the dining room will be full. Breakfast is pretty good - fresh coffee, plus the usual array of juice, fruit, croissants, cheese & ham, and chocolate and vanilla sponge cakes (if that's what floats your boat at 9am!)

The staff (a family-run business?) were very polite, and happily booked us a taxi for our departure.

If you can get a good deal, then I would recommend a stay here.
