“Fantastic base hotel for Florence sites.”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Liberty for one night over the August bank holiday weekend. I booked it mainly after reading reviews on here and the free parking was a huge selling point as we were travelling by car.
The hotel is in a lovely location, 20 minutes walk from the Ponte Vecchio bridge and the main sites and 5 minutes drive on the same street will take you to the best view I have ever seen (Piazzale Michelangelo).
The room was clean and nicely decorated with a good bathroom and air con/freewifi. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and Paolo even apologised for the rain keeping us inside to eat. The location is great for a busy weekend as it is far enough from the noisy street cleaners to sleep but close enough to stroll around the sites.
Overall a great hotel that I plan to go back to.

We had a most lovely stay at Hotel Liberty, which is an oasis of peace and harmony well-located in Firenze. The spa was wonderful, the breakfast lovely - thanks to Paolo, Irene, Dorian, Mario, Filippo, Santina and Daniela who really make a difference!

Very clean and comfortable with interesting rooms. Small bathroom but adequate and plenty of hot water in a good shower. Breakfast in the garden was very nice. It was good to have parking and a pleasant walk along the river into the city. We would go there again.

Paolo and his family, including the so friendly Mario, from the reception desk, make us feeling home. At summer time the breakfast is served at the back garden of this old style high ceeling 3 story construction. The rooms are spacious and clean. The location favors the 30 min nice walking by side of Arno river till the old town, besides it´s one of the few places around with a free parking lot . The "alameda" where the hotel is adressed is covered by trees, mimicking a green tunnel. If you drive further you´ll catch the best view of the river with its bridges and the old city (piazza Michelangelo). The last (not the least), it is a total smoke free hotel and offers complementary wifi connection.

Room Tip: As it was a traditional family house, so better stay in the former main room, wich has more space an...

Acquaintances set us up to expect a charming sojourn in this Art Nouveau manse in the gracious San Miniato neighborhood. Our third floor suite was furnished in high kitsch, festooned with brothel mirrors, and featured a balcony into nowhere: the French doors opened into a windowless closet without a ceiling. My sleeping couch left barely enough room to open the armoire door. The espresso machine was under repair during the perfunctory breakfast. Way overpriced.

We were very pleased with the hotel, which we picked due to reviews and our need to find a hotel near town where we could park our rental car. We stayed two nights. The hotel has character and our room with private bath was great. The staff and breakfast buffet were wonderful (and they make great cuppuccino!). Paolo - an owner - was always friendly and helpful with advice. My wife's luggage arrived two days after we did and Paolo was fantastic in helping organize its eventual delivery. It is a 20 minute walk into (and back from) the historic center of Florence or you can can bus service from nearby. We would definitely return here.

We really enjoyed staying here. The hotel had lots of character and everything was of a good standard, including breakfast. There is even parking which was handy for us. It was easy to walk to lots of the main sites and attractions. We would definitely stay there again.
