Wow what can I say! Incredibly beautiful. Part of the pAckage that included the cathedral and campanile etc. We had the day before gone to Pisa and visited the Baptistry there which was so bland when compared to this. You must see this!

It's very nice with a lot of pictures you can find on top and you can see clear and is very great to spend about 15 minutes to pick pictures and to visit First before continue tour to cathedral.
Once seen, never forgotten. Well worth a look but please make sure you book your ticket, especially to make sure you jump the queue
My wife and I go to the Baptistery of San Giovanni (Battistero) every time we go to Florence; it’s too awe-inspiring to pass up. The line to enter is usually short, and the inside is normally not very crowded. Italian poet Dante Alighieri, many of the Medicis, and thousands of Florentines were baptized in the Baptistery of San Giovanni, one of Florence’s oldest buildings, over the centuries. It is a very important building in Florentine history, and its intricate, ornate construction reflects that importance.
We like to find a seat inside and just sit and marvel at the fantastic mosaics in the cupola. The mosaics are arranged in concentric rings, set forth scenes from the Bible, and are no less magnificent than those in the cupola of Santa Maria del Fiore – just smaller. Moreover, the mosaics are easier to see because they’re a lot closer. An octagonal building constructed of green-and-white Romanesque marble slabs, the Baptistery is located on Duomo Square directly across from the Duomo. The entire structure is gorgeous – from the three sets of doors (the originals of which are in the Duomo Museum), to the inlaid marble floor, to the mosaics in the cupola. The Baptistry of San Giovanni is glorious. Do not miss it.
Brings together all cultures in a magnificent building. Well worth waiting in the queue. The gold ceiling, marble floors and geometric designs enhanced the mood, so serene and cool.
From the outside you just don't realise how beautiful the baptistery will be, with the lovely arches and columns inside and the whole ceiling covered in gold mosaics. An absolutely fantastic space, well worthy of the famous doors.
