hotel is in the middle of center.. just 5 minutes walking distance to Piazza Duomo. Hotel has a great terrace restaurant. You could get sun also in the morning. Service is good. Very closed to Train station.

There is just one word - EXCELLENT. Its an old hotel with the most modern of facilities including a digital concierge! Wow! The charm and elegances of the golden olden times has been retained and enhanced with modern digital features. The Junior Suite was spacious, plush, excellent bathrooms. Location is superb - walking distance (hardly 3 minutes) from the Firenze SMN rail station, the Duomo is just down the road and all other attractions are easily within walking distance. Breakfast was good. Will definitely like to stay here again.

Room Tip: Junior Suites are large and good for families with young kids.

This review is based on half a dozen stays during 7 years period, all on business with a bit of leisure twist.
General notice for ladies visiting Florence : the streets were done by Bruneleschi and not repaired since, wearing stileto shoes is not a such good idea!
Coming to the hotel.: beautiful communal areas, bit sneaky corridors (its possible to get lost,as floors have narrow passages and few steps elevation changes, but reward is rich.Corridors are adorned with vintage photographs and other artefacts,a bit darkish, but friendly and discreet. The "discreet" word can not be used to descibe behaviour of the cleaning staff, who find the pleasure in loud talks early in the morning to announce their arriva and wake you up.
Rooms are spacious, clean and very well appointed.Try to secure one of the rooms at first floor, with an access to the private terraces - warm weather time they are absolutely fabulous, you may be tempted not to leave hotel at all!
View from breakfast room (5th floor) to Duomo is spectacular, breakfast itself - standard hotel fare,no fireworks of creativity noted.
Bar at ground floor well stocked, but closes early.
Location:excellent, proximity to railway station, buses to The Mall and outlets,Marketto and entire touristy business.
Should you decide to use concierge to book tickets or restaurant - be careful, check, whether the dates and timing of the reservations comply with your instructions.
I did not use the hotel restaurant, but a drink at roof terrace at warm summer day is wirthe anything!
Enjoy!

Room Tip: First floor rooms with an access to private, shaded by greenery, terraces are the best during warm sea...

We chose this for its proximity to the railway station as we were travelling to florence from venice and with 4 kids and luggage we didn't want to have to walk to far.
Beautiful looking hotel, very grand and visible from the railway station.
Checked in without a problem. Rooms were grand, clean and well laid out. Very traditional architecture which made the hotel even more impressive.
Breakfast was taken in the top floor restaurant and was the best of our stay in Italy. Fantastic spread of freshly cooked and prepared breakfast, hot and cold.
Location was also very good, took 10 minutes and we were in the thick of the main tourist attractions.
Would highly recommend.

This wonderful hotel in a great location reeks of another grand era. The rooms are large with high ceilings and huge windows and shutters. The lobby bar is cozy and the bartenders are collegial and ready with your drink the moment they see you enter. The fifth floor dining area (breakfast room) gives a marvelous view of the Duomo, Campanille and Piazza Vecchio tower. The staff was cheerful and helpful, especially Antonio, in recommending tours and restaurants. A lovely Holy Week stay.

This is a grand hotel. The rooms are large enough and very well equipped. The staff are helpful and friendly. It could not be handier to the train station. It's across the plaza. We will return. The breakfast on the fifth floor has a wonderful view of the Duomo and is very good

We stayed here at the end of a mini break and what a wonderful hotel! Full of grand charm and original features you feel like you have stepped back in time! Go and spend some time in the bar - the bartender is amazing!! The view from the restaurant is literally breath taking! Exactly what we needed!
