“Don't go to this hotel.”
Reviewed 22 October 2013 via mobile

Do not go to this hotel. The only one pleasant member of this hotel team is a young barman 18-20 years old, sorry don' t remember his name. But attitude of the hotel to their guests is awful. We left a car forward of a hotel on the hotel parking zone. And went may be for 30-40 minutes. After our return we didn't find our car, it was picked-up because ladies from reception called police while they knew we were guests. And we had a very long trip to return car and pay penalty. Next day even police didn't understand why the hotel decided to call. From Lucchesi Hotel no words of excuse. So if you want your trip to Florence to be nice in every moment, don't choose this Plaza Lucchesi Hotel.

Dear customer,
Rather than respond to you I prefer to answer to all those users that while reading your review may have wondered what really happened. Maybe it will be healthy to know our version and then judge. The car that you parked in front of the hotel was made to take away from the police because you did not check in right away or warned the concierge. You left the car in front of the hotel and simply walked away without showing up . If you had checked we would have informed that the hotel has a garage and that you can not leave your car in the loading and unloading luggage area in front of the hotel..
also you forgot to tell users of Tripadvisor we were forced to undergo an interrogation by the police because when you went to pick up the car you forced the jaws with which the car had been blocked. An offense.
Before you complain the story should be all tell.

This was a short notice one night stay for a one day visit to Florence. The location is on the river Arno and 15 - 20 minutes leisurely walk to key sites and many restaurants. They have a private garage (30€) and valet service for your car. Very comfortable and well appointed rooms. The bathroom was very good (shower was smallish, can only shower one person at a time...). The breakfast was large, varied and high quality. The lifts/elevators are small, but that is not unusual - the stairs are wide with four flights total. A high quality hotel that is convenient and very comfortable.

Room Tip: For short notice stays, I suggest that you call and check the price at the front desk - it may be le...

My husband and I spent a week here and it was perfect. Booked this hotel based on location and other reviews and we weren't disappointed. The room was large, almost suite-like with a separate living area. We weren't overlooking the river but the view of the church behind was pleasant and the church bells every afternoon at 5:30 were a nice surprise. The hotel is two blocks from the Ponte Vecchio, one block from the Uffizi Gallery and within walking distance of some great little restaurants and shopping. The breakfast buffet every morning was great! Numerous selections and awesome coffee. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Front desk staff was always helpful. Word of advice: cabs start clock from wherever they are when called not from the front of the hotel.

Nice spacious room. The bathroom was OK, but the shower let water get everywhere. The breakfast buffet was not as good as the others we had during our 5-city tour, but still ok. Free in room wireless was a big bonus. Our room was on an alley which had lots of motorcycles throughout the night, so ask for a room along the front (river view).

we stayed mid-week at this hotel, and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a two story room that had a stair case, 1 full bathroom and 1 half bathroom plus windows that opened up to a view of the Arno. location was great - easy walk to town. added bonus is that we were able to get the room pitch black making for a great nights sleep (plus comfortable bed and decent pillows helped out). Reception was very friendly and helped us confirm a tour reservation we had made. we also used the hotels pressing service - minor annoyance that we found hotels in Europe did not have irons standard as US hotels do. Next trip i'll remember to pack a portable iron, but for roughly 6 EURO a shirt was worth it (same day service as well). Would absolutely stay here again.

Room Tip: loved our two story room!!!

We stayed five nights at this hotel and the experience was very nice.

Located right on the Arno River a few blocks walk from the city center where all of the sites are located. Although it's only a few blocks away from the city center, there are virtually no tourists around and you won't wake up to sound of tourist crowded streets. Plus, being on the river with a view of the hills, it offers a serene non city feeling (see next paragraph).

The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the front of the hotel faces the river. If you have a few extra dollars, pay for a view of the river as it's well worth it at sunrise and sunset. Absolutely magnificent. Picturesque.

Another huge bonus is that it is a short walk to cross the Arno River, which is where the best food in Florence is (away from the tourists). Go right out of the hotel door, cross the Ponte Vecchio (or any of the bridges crossing the Arno) and stroll the neighborhoods which offer a variety of great food options (hint: look for the menus in Italian only (or where the locals are), then ask for you waiter to translate as they almost all speak English).
