Fantastic location. The staff here make you feel like royalty. The maids work so hard and seem to refresh the rooms atleast twice a day with little touches like roses made out of tissues! Lovely personal touches. The breakfast is delicious with hot and cold options available.
It has an amazing roof terrace and pool where the staff are also very attentive. My only comment to the manager is why are the lagers so expensive at €8? Surely you would do better to charge less and then people would buy more?

I stayed for 4 nights when touring Italy. This hotel is excellent. Located on the Arno river, 15mins or less walk to town, yet close to more local, less touristy bars and restaurants. Very clean, staff are so friendly and helpful, everyone greets you as you walk past. Breakfast was lovely, with an extensive selection of foods all well presented. The best part is the roof terrace with pool and bar. After a busy day out exploring you can cool off in the pool watching the sunset on the Florence skyline.

Dear customer,

thank you very much for your kind review.

I'm glad that you liked the whole stay, from the room to the staff, the breakfast to start the day in the best way.

And finally our last jewel: the roof bar Empireo, which after a busy day visiting all churches and museums is really relaxing to have a view so breathtaking with something to drink maybe!!

Hope to see you again at Plaza Hotel Lucchesi,

Best Regards,

We had a lovely time at this hotel as the staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. We were a little disappointed with the room, being a bit small and in need of a coat of paint, and the bathroom could have done with some TLC. A bit shabby overall. We were on the 2nd floor and overlooking the river - so as previous reviewers have stated, rather noisy. That wasn't a real problem though as we were out most of the time.
The absolute best bit was the new roof top pool. A gem. And what a view. I can't imagine how we'd have felt at the end of the week if we hadn't been able to relax in the sum after a day of sightseeing! Sadly the price of drinks at the rooftop bar were sky high and you weren't allowed to even drink your own water up there.
Superb location, great staff but hardly 4star.

Room Tip: Go for rooms on the fourth floor - newer- and ask for a room overlooking the church, rather than the river.

Dear Member of Tripadvisor,

first of all thanks to spend your time to tell your experience at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi.

I am sorry that you have not enjoyed the room as you did on our roof sky bar EMPIREO. I am just wondering if you tell to the reception staff, since as usual we try always to do our best to have all the guests satisfy.

In any case I have really appreciated that you liked our jewel as you called it.

In the future there will be new improvements to the hotel and we hope to give you our warm welcome and show you all of them!

Best Regards,

We stayed at the Plaza Lucchesi in the first week of june, what a great location! The whole town is walkable! A few minute walk (about 10 minutes) along the Arno, or walk up Corso Dei Tintori to the Uffizi Gallery and Piazza Singori, another few minutes from there and your at Ponte Vecchio, same to the Piazza Repubblica and finally to the Duomo. Best of all... at the end of the night its a short walk back to Plazza Lucchesi where it is nice and quiet just far enough away from the loud hustle and bustle. Across the Arno from the hotel there is a Beach bar with music and good drinks and it's at the bottom of Piazzale Michelangelo (NICE CLIMB TO THE TOP FOR A GREAT VIEW AND A COCKTAIL). The small nieghborhood on the way to the Piazzale is also nice. We were upgraded to a room on the top floor witch was awesome, new and modern. But i am sure our other room woud have been just fine. The rooms with a view of the river were great.Would stay here agian if i ever get the chance to head back.

Cordiali Saluti,

We arrived late to the hotel last Monday and we were greeted nicely by the lady at the reception who even helped us book for a restaurant at almost midnight. During our stay, we asked the concierge assistance for 3 issues. Below is the recap of events:
- Tuesday AM: we enquired for booking of two tickets for an opera concert the next day. We also asked for more details on the Florence to Bologna Airport shuttle. We received no answer to our requests that day.
- Wednesday AM: Had to ask for answers for our two enquiries. Answers received were: Opera Tickets were not available and unclear indications on where to take the Bologna airport shuttle (we called the opera after that who confirmed that tickets were still available for that night...).
On Wednesday PM, the concierge came back saying that he finally managed to get tickets...(?).
- Wednesday PM: We ask for a wake-up call for the next day (today) at 0800. This wake-up call was never made...
- Thursday AM: We asked again for indication for Bologna Airport shuttle and the answer was again unclear on where to take it (somewhere around the train station, the concierge said). We decided to go early and look for the shuttle nearby the train station by ourselves. Based on that, we asked for a taxi pick up to get to the train station for 0940. At 0940, no taxi showed. We asked for the whereabouts of this cab (actually the concierge forgot to call the taxi...)/ We finally had one taxi arriving 15 minutes later. Once arrived to the Florence train station, we could not find our way around to the shuttle on time and we missed it. We found an alternative solution on our own and we managed finally to catch our flight. That, of course, had a cost...
As a result of above mentioned events, we consider the concierge service in this hotel as terrible and non-recommendable.
Besides, below are the pros:
- well located
- fantastic breakfast
- great roof-top with view over the Arno and the Duomo

Room Tip: Rooms on the Arno rivers are fantastic
