This is a very lovely hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and Enzo the bartender is simply magnificent. It was beautiful and very well located, . Yes some of the furniture is a little worn in the bedrooms but the majestic breakfast room more than makes up for it and it is very clean, the beds are good and comfortable, we had a balcony and a brilliant view and the for the price it was a very good deal indeed .

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony if you can

Great location - minutes to the Duomo and Baptisery. Staff was very helpful. Room was fine. Breakfast was great! Free wireless in the lobby. Great restaurant across the street (ciro and sons?) that served bifsteca fiorentina...WOW..we went back both nights!

We stayed 4 nights. A truly excellent loactaion. The reception and dining room are fabulous. The bedrooms less so. The shower leaked all over the floor, the shower itself was useless as it pointed towards the wall! The air con did not work. The wardrobe had no hanging space for dresses or long coats (friends we stayed with had similar problems including a bath and sink which would not stay full. The bed itself was large, comfortable and clean. The decor of the hotel has become very very tired, and all pervading smell of drains is omnipresent. The reception staff were ever helpful, sadly the dining staff were slighty less so.
As the large vat of scrambled egg was clearly old and cold, my wife asked for 2 poached eggs. We were told these would cost an additional 5 euros! She declined, so instead, with 10 minutes to end of breakfast, they wasted perhaps 20 eggs producing a new batch of scrambled egg (for one?). The complmentary breakfast was adequate at best, in a hotel of this alleged standard, it was poor. We got the room at knock down rate and so we were just about satisfied. If we had paid full money we would have been very very disappointed.

Room Tip: Get at least 60% off or go somewhere else.

Good old fashioned hotel. I was there on business and lack of WiFi or internet connection in room a problem, but I would return here for tourist reasons because of the location. My room was decoratively tired and smelled of mildew - but to be honest, everything worked and it was a decent size, clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower in the corner of the bathroom worked well, but the shower curtain was probably the main culprit for the smell - and tended to wrap itself around a bit! On the other hand, the service was always excellent (breakfast in my room was huge and only cost the small room service charge) and there was an some of the rooms on the higher floors have a great view. For the money this was a pretty good deal.

We stayed for 3 nights. We reserved 6 months before and got a great price!! The hotel have a great location, one block to the Medici Chappels and 3 blocks to the Duomo!! The restaurant in front of the hotel has a great Lassagna al forno!! The hotel is nice, the breakfast good, the rooms are beautiful. The only problem is the bad smell of the wet carpets in the corridors of the 1st floor. The access to the breakfast room was also complicated. The elevators were crowded all the time. We will return.

Just returned from a Trafalgar Tour and we spent 2 nights at this Hotel. As others have pointed out, the Lobby is spectacular. What a welcoming sight to a charming City., It was large but comfy, the bar (small) and sitting rooms were very appealing to a weary traveler. The breakfast was pllentiful & good., The people at the desk were very helpful . The location was great. Walking distance to all the highlights of Florence. Many restaurants in the area.Only negative was the "small, slow" elevator and that is nit picking.Would stay here again if I was in Florence.

Very, very good location near thr Dome and the Citycenter. Very nice and big lobby
with professional and nice staff. Big, clean and beautiful room with a large bed.
The Hotel-breakfast was excellent and the Breakfastroom was very beautiful with
paintings and a Gardenroom.
There was a very nice resraurant at the hotel, with open skay and flowers.
We will defenitly visit it again and the weather was perfect.

Room Tip: Choose the back side of the hotel, less noice, take a lower floor the elevators are so good...

The Hotel Boscolo Astoria Firenze is the ideal choice for your stay: you'll be accommodated in the rooms of the Palazzo Gaddi and Palazzo Arrighetti, historic buildings belonging to noble Florentine families, where art recounts the passage of centuries every step of the way. Indeed, it was while living at Palazzo Gaddi that the great English author John Milton found inspiration for his masterpiece, Paradise Lost, and in these very rooms that he wrote it. The noble past of Hotel Boscolo Astoria Firenze is also reflected in its location: the church of Santa Maria Novella, abounding in great art, is right nearby (as is the convenient railway station with the same name), and a short stroll will take you directly to Florence's historic centre. An undeniable advantage that puts the most beautiful areas of the city right at your fingertips. The prestigious salons of the luxury Hotel Boscolo Astoria Firenze, decorated in original Florentine Baroque style, are the perfect backdrop for important events. The restaurant will pamper you with typical Tuscany and Mediterranean dishes. ... more   less
