I am going to sound like a total whinger after seeing other reviews of this hotel, but I can only rate it as I experienced it. We stayed 3 nights here and wished I had gone back to the Pendini where I had stayed in September.
On the plus side......the check in was easy and fast. We were even upgraded.
The room was lovely.
But, in the bathroom the shower leaked over the bath and right out the door.
Yes, they would get someone to look at it and give us more towls to mop up.
The check in staff were helpful, when you could get them to stop talking betwen themselves.
The lounge area is small and was a bit tired. Chair and lounge covers really need a refurb.
There was some sort of small conference on when we were there and they used the lounge area throughout the day. Surely a conference room could have been found for them. Leaving this area for other guests.
One of the reasons for booking this hotel was the restaurant. But, it was out of use. We weren't advised of this when we booked.
Our room a little noisy with people passing under our window at night and early in the morning. No double glazing here.
Now a plus ! The breakfast room was gorgeous . The staff were very attentive. But, the breakfast was not the best I have had in Italy.
Not sure what constitutes a 5 star hotel in Europe, but having worked in the industry this hotel would not rate in the USA or Australia.
