Just back from our 3rd visit to Florence. We flew direct to from London City Airport and booked the flight and hotel with Briotish Airways, transfer from airport to hotel was 25 euros. I upgraded to a deluxe room but was pleasently surprised to be put in room 115 which was a lovely room on what I believe is their Tuscan floor, if you get this room you will have no complaints!
The hotel location is perfect, the hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was because of the good reviews of breakfast, well something must have changed recently. There was a reasonable pastry selection, however the hot food options were very poor and unappetising and it would have been nicer for the fruit to have been fresh and not tinned. We had to order pancakes and ommeletts each day which were fine however wasn't happy to have an invoice for 48 Euro's at check out. Also on the website are pictures of the Terrace with a hot tub, there was no mention of this anywhere in the hotel and although we didn't look too hard we never found it.
In summary we would happiliy stay at the hotel again but if you like a nice relaxing cooked breakfast to start your day then stay somewhere else, the Westin Excelsior have a splendid breakfast, but is more money. You pay your money and take your choice

Dear Guest,
thank you for you review, room 115 is in the Tuscan floor, our executive floor, I'm delighted you enjoyed the room and our exclusive location. Regarding the breakfast I'm really sorry you didn't appreciate it a lot but I'll share your comments with the staff to improve our offer and our service. Thank you for your feedback and we really hope to welcome you back again,

We stayed at the Bernini Palace Hotel for four nights and couldn't have been happier. The room (we got upgraded to Superior) was extremely comfortable, the bed was excellent, bathroom too, great storage space and I want to give a special mention to the soundproofing. Because this hotel is so very central (two minutes' walk from the Piazza Signoria) noise could be an issue, but the soundproofing was first rate so we slept undisturbed. The breakfast was very good and all the assistance from the desk could not have been bettered. I highly recommend the Bernini Palace.

Very nice location.. Close to all the attractions and shops.. Helpful staff however, I don't consider it a 5 star hotel.. Carpets in the rooms are not clean.. The furniture is old even if the hotel style is classic and antique. Breakfast is less than 3 star hotel no variety at all.

First time in Florence was a fairytale with a big help of a hotel impression itself! In the heart of the old Florence, 100m from Uffizi and 200m from Duomo, and next to Piaza de la Signoria, it offers ancient buiding, good Tuscany dinner delicacies, super friendly and polite stuff, cozy rooms (little old fashioned vintage, but ok), great Wifi, so makes a perfect nest to discover all beauties of Florence on a relaxed way ... would be my choice for the next stay for sure!

The rooms were very dark and cold. I was not at all impressed with the furnishings in the rooms. On the other hand the location was great and the staff was super and was always helpful. The included breakfast was very good with a great selection. For the money i would try somewhere else.

From the initial greeting by the concierge as he collected us from the taxi at the hotel entrance to the sad day we paid our bill 6 days later the whole experience was top drawer.
After completing check in formalities we were given a guided tour of the hotel by reception and then taken to our room. This was elegant and charming and surprisingly spacious after reading some of the reviews. We had requested a superior room and had a fantastic bedroom with annexed sitting area with mini bar and tea and coffee facilities, obviously ensuite with a bath and shower, a view of the duomo from our windows and absolutely no street noise with the windows closed.
Breakfast was a sumptuous affair with great service and a huge selection of hot and cold items.
We used the bar every night for a night cap which the always happy bar staff took pleasure in remembering after the first night which made us feel more special.
We ate in the restaurant one evening and can honestly say the tasting menu was as good as any meal we had eaten in Florence and with the hotel offering guests a 20% discount it was also one of the cheapest!
Combine this great service with its excellent location and it really is the perfect base for a stay in Florence and we are already planning our next visit for October!

Room Tip: We had room 201 and it was perfect

The Bernini Palace was my favorite hotel in Italy, and Florence my favorite city. It is within walking distance to all the sights, and when you are tired, the room is exquisite. The service was fabulous, and the breakfast room was artful as well. We were well cared for by the staff. I would highly recommend this property.
