We stayed at the Bernini for our wedding in Florence. It was the perfect hotel for a number of reasons. We were married in the Piazza del Signoria in the town hall. It was about a half block walk from our hotel to the hall. It's right near all the tourist sights in the city.

Our room was lovely. The bedroom was on the smaller size, but the bathroom was outstanding! There were two sinks and a wide vanity. There was also a separate door for the shower and toilet. It was great because we just had so much gear on our wedding day and it was nice that we weren't running in to each other.

The staff was great too. They helped us with getting my dressed pressed and with getting champagne and strawberries delivered to the room. We also had a few faxes that were sent to us that were delivered promptly.

Overall, it was a great stay. Our wedding was perfect and the Hotel Bernini was certainly the perfect place to stay.

Excellent location in the heart of Florence. Nice size room, modern amenities. Nice breakfast each day included in a nice room with attentive service. Daily fruit brought to the room. Internet included (bring a cable). Excellent concierge. Good tasting tap water. Highly recommend.

We stayed three nights and had a wonderful experience at the hotel Bernini. The hotel is very elegant, the room was large and luxurious, breakfast was absolutely delicious, staff very friendly, and location perfect (next to the Palazzio Vecchio). Highly recommended.

I wish I would've stayed here my entire trip. For the money you pay for this hotel, you get an additional 2 stars in luxury to anything else in town. I stayed at two other hotels that had similar ratings and price, they were nothing compared to this one.
You are treated like royalty the minute you walk in the door. No one forgets your name once they have an opportunity to do anything for you. Easy access to the hotel. Fantastic location. The back of the Uffizi is a block away, 2 of the most beautiful, lively squares are a block away, the bus and taxi stands are only a block away, great restaurants and bars are in the immediate area. .( I write about a few in the restaurant review section). The hotel is located on a lively corner but after 7pm, it's quiet.
The staff is exceptional. They handled every thing I needed, same day museum tickets, bus map, taxi, restaurant reservations, same day train reservations and tickets. Every staff member was top-notch, friendly and professional. I got so much great advice that it made my time there, well spent.
The rooms were luxurious. Big comfortable bed with great linens, air conditioning, insulated windows, chandeliers, music system, LCD TV with extended cable. The bathroom was roomy and filled with tons of vanity accessories and luxury soaps, etc. Lots of towels, and nice black monogrammed slippers. Good turndown service nightly. They don't limit your thermostat (most hotels only let you turn it on to a certain degree). Breakfast was a treat with champagne, charcuterie, salad, 3 egg dishes, cakes, along with pastries, yogurts, cheeses and cereals. The breakfast room is beautiful and elegant, large and airy with a grand frescoed ceiling.
The hotel has a jacuzzi on the rooftop along with a small terrace. The bar has a modern moorish feel, very sleek. Elevators and a grand staircase if you do want to walk instead. There's a concierge floor that looked like it would be worth the extra 50 euros. Most rooms offer some view of the Duomo. We had a small side view of it which was good enough since we were out and about most of the time. They upgraded us because it was our anniversary into a room that had a small sitting area to enjoy the complimentary champagne and snacks they sent up. Looking at the room map, I don't think any room is very small.
I stayed at 8 well-rated hotels this trip and this was the best by far. It was a great value for the money compared to all the others in this price range. I expected stuffy service and was surprised by the genuine stellar staff. I paid 169 euros which is a steal for a hotel like this. You won't find a better place in Florence. Safe travels.

We spent three nights in this hotel and in terms of price quality it was probably not worth it. However if you want a sure thing, ie clean well presented rooms with friendly staff then this is for you.

The hotel is ideally placed, just behind Palazzio de Vecchio, literally a few minutes (in some cases only a few seconds) from all the main sights, but having said that one must remember that Florence is small and so any hotel in the old part of town can boast the same thing.

The staff where very friendly and helpful.

The rooms where clean and decorated in Italian style, that means over the top, the beds, yes there where two of them, occupied almost all of the room

Despite being on the fifth floor the noise from the street below was clearly audible at all hours.

The hotel restaurant was over priced even for Florence, a meal will set you back over 60€, defiantly not worth it given all that Florence has to offer at more reasonable prices. Having said that the setting is very good.

In summary a good hotel but over priced, when we go back to Florence I'll check out other alternatives but if I had to go back to this hotel I wouldn't complain.

We stayed at the Bernini Palace for 3 nights of our honeymoon in Italy. It was one of the best locations we could have chosen! Walkable to everything you want to see in historic Florence, and only 2 blocks from the Ponte Vecchio - the wide bridge that has been the center of shopping for hundreds of years. Also the hotel is right behind the Uffizi Museum.

The lobby decore is fabulous, old world euro style with a modern update. The rooms you see on their website are the suites that you must pay more for, but the standard rooms are very good and comfortable, just not quite as updated or exciting with decore as the suites. The rooms have giant chandeliers, old world style and traditional furnature. I'm personally not a big fan of heavy ancient fabric for the bedding and drapery, but once the beadspread was taken off, it was a comfortable 2-twin bed and we could barely tell that it wasn't one bed. The bathroom was very nice and felt clean and luxurious with a tub/shower combo. Amenities included lotion, shampoo, soap, and slippers (no conditioner/cream).

Service was only okay. We had to get the staff's attention that was talking to eachother all of the time, but once we did get their attention to finally ask for something they were helpful. They never flat out said hello or offered to be of service until asked. Maybe some people prefer that. We got incredible rates (around $150 US dollars per night) through Travelocity and felt like we got a steal. For the actual rates I saw on the hotel's website I think you could probably find better service elsewhere, but the location is hard to beat.

No breakfast included, no pool/jacuzzi/spa, but you do get a free drink coupon per person for the lobby bar!

A restaurant suggestion close by is DA GANINO - excellent food and ambiance!!

My husband and I took "one last trip" before the birth of our son, a "babymoon." Where better to go than Florence? I was lucky enough to get a great deal on this hotel through American Express promotion, and contacted the hotel directly to see if I could get an upgrade on the room included in the package for a supplement. The hotel agreed, and we had a beautiful room on the 2nd floor (1st floor to Europeans) near the breakfast room. This was a particularly thoughtful thing to do on the hotel's part, as I was hugely pregnant and walking up and down the stairs to the rooms would have been very difficult!

The location of the hotel is excellent, within easy walking distance of everything a tourist wants to do... when we opened our window the Bargello was right across the street; when we exited the front door we crossed the street to our left and were standing at the wall of the Palazzo Vecchio! Everything was very close and that made it easy to get back to the hotel for my mandatory rests!

The staff was lovely; the breakfast was very nice, standard European cold cuts and breads, fruits, yoghurts; the bed was heavenly and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. The lobby was very "trendy," all dark walls and heavy curtains trying to be very night-clubby, which I found a bit odd. We had dinner in the restaurant in the lobby one night and it was very good.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Bernini Palace to anyone - I think pensioners and families will be just as happy here as we were! Stay and enjoy!
