Loved our stay at Rapallo's (we stayed 4 nights) - beds were really comfortable, room and bathroom very clean and modern and staff very helpful and passionate about their city and what it has to offer. Breakfast was something to look forward to and so were the free drinks/nibbles in the afternoons (check-out time of 12 noon also helpful). Would go again!

When we arrived at Hotel Rapallo around midday, we were immediately offered coffee or juice, and this welcoming, helpful attitude continued throughout our stay with all of the staff. Although all staff members were attentive, I want to mention that Rino was exceptionally helpful and patient when we had a computer problem with our airline tickets.
The Rapallo's bar/breakfast room is open all day with complimentary coffee, juice, and snacks. It is a comfortable room, and we found it a pleasant place to have a drink before going out in the evening.
Our room was very attractively designed. However, we had reserved a superior double as it was supposed to be more spacious than the regular doubles. It was not spacious. Fortunately, we were only there for 2 nights as it would not have been comfortable for a longer stay. The bathroom was also very attractive. Although the marble floor looked great in the bathroom, it was a bit of a problem as it got extremely slick when any water got on it. (We are over 60, in very good shape, but nervous about falling in the bathroom.) A rug would be helpful here.
Overall, this hotel is a pleasant place to stay because of the staff.

We booked this hotel totally on the reviews of other Trip Advisor comments. I booked the room in January - for June. I followed the reviews during that time period and they just kept getting better.
The hotel itself is really not out of the way. Not in the historic district but less than a 15 minute walk to lots.

The hotel is without a doubt the cleanest property I have ever stayed in. Everything about the space was perfect including our much surprised large terrace with a view. The property was almost Perfect!.

The only improvement I would suggest would be to the staff that shows you to your room. The young lady who escorted me - did not offer to help with the luggage, showed me how the key worked and disappeared. I had no idea how to turn on the lights or work things in the room as the electronic key needed to be in the door to keep the lights and ac working. If you leave the room - all electronics get shut down - an energy saver but a problem not having one working outlet when you need to charge phone computer, etc.

The hotel staff is accommodating, made us reservations at a wonderful restaurant that we thoroughly enjoyed.
The hotel is hip, clean, very comfortable -and everything it web site states and more.

On top of that it is extremely affordable by Florence Standards. I could not consider staying anywhere else... Nothing could be better in so many ways.

Thank you Lorenzo and staff for an almost perfect stay.

Hotel Rapallo is a great hotel. :) From the time of email correspondence to actual stay, the service rendered deserves a 5 star rating! :) The hotel is actually pretty near to the main train station, and very easy to locate. In addition, it was also near to the main attractions in florence, bapistry, dumo, etc, signori square, etc. The rooms are very clean, it has cable TV, free-wifi as well :) breakfast was fantastic, danish, croissants, toast, coffee, tea, cheese, meats, cereals, fruits, yogurt, etc.. Most importantly it is the staff at the lobby which provided the best experience :) on two occasions,

1) Very prompt and helpful, they really went the extra mile to help arrange for transport/taxi to and fro; tuscany, wineries

2) Attentive as well :) when one time, i was waiting to use the common computer for some urgent research, the staff promptly invited me to use another computer behind the counter. :)

If you are looking for a place to stay while in florence, Hotel Rapallo is your answer. a true hotel which deserve more ratings.

We came to Florence only for two nights for a day trip to Tuscany so we weren't looking for anything too flashy or luxurious... just a place to leave our bags and shower. Overall, the hotel was what we needed. Very close to the station which was a bonus, plus walking distance to the centre of Florence (bit of a walk) but still doable.

Hotel staff weren't very friendly, but the room was clean and although the bathrooms were small it didn't phase as too much as we were only there for 2 nights. If we were there for longer it may have been a bigger issue.

The breakfast was good. I have Coeliac Disease and didn't request special meals before I arrived or if they could provide gluten free food, but I tried my luck and upon asking the server at breakfast I was delighted that she was able to bring me a whole basket of GF foods including cereals and cakes. A great bonus for me!

Would consider staying here again if I was in Florence for a short time.

his commentary is very special. I really appreciate what I call shadow travelers, it seems that you see in the hotel, that no one notices. instead our dicrezione is equal to yours. we are careful to make you meet what you want, and everything can also look casual. attentive staff, that smile that the customer can not see the staff is in the mouth of satisfied customer
thanks and regards

Based on high ratings on TA we arrived with big expectations but our experience exceeded even that! From our very hospitable welcome by Lorenzo and his colleagues, and throughout our stay, the service was always friendly and dedicated to providing the best possible experience for us, including by way of references to good quality restaurants etc. This modern, very well appointed, and spotlessly clean boutique hotel sustained a very high standard including with the provision of a 'club facility' open from 11am - 11pm offering coffee and drinks, fruit and afternoon tea tarts that we considered to be superior to many supplied by 'big brand' hotels. Breakfasts were of a very good standard. Handy to Florence S.M.N. train station and easy walking distance from most attractions. Very strongly recommended, and we plan to return.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Really good room, with a safe and mini bar. Good breakfast. It's a little away from the main attractions of the city, but nothing to worry about. The staff spoke English and Portuguese, besides Italian. They were gentle enough to make a reservation for us to the academia, which usually has long lines. I would go back if I have to!
