“Loved Rapallo”
Reviewed 25 June 2013

Stayed here for 5 nights, very pleased with the accomodations. We had a triple room, one side had two twins pushed together, and the other twin (more a cot than permanent bed) was on the other side in a separate part of the room with a desk and dresser. The hotel and rooms/bathrooms seem to have been very recently renovated as everything was modern, elegant and spotless. A full included breakfast was great each morning. Our room (303) on the third floor faced the street, but the double-pane windows blocked out the noise. Front desk was most helpful in making some phone calls when they didn't connect out of the room. While the hotel location is not as close to the center as some of the others in town, it is still only a 10 to 20 minute walk to anywhere and is away from some of the hustle and bustle closer in. It is also close to the main rail station. I would definitely recommend Hotel Rapallo for any stay in Florence.

Room Tip: room 303 was great; avoid rooms near elevator/vending machine, such as 301

We stayed 2 nights and were pretty impressed with Rapallo. Only 15 mins walk to the centre and free parking on the street outside. Inside, the hotel was spotlessly clean and stylish and the bedroom was of a very good standard. The bed was extremely comfortable after a day on foot, whilst the bathroom was clean and modern. TV had Sky and wi-fi Internet was free. Breakfast was minimal but decent. Staff were at all times pleasant and engaging, and dressed immaculately in their uniforms. We are now in a 4* in Siena and Rapallo is superior in most departments, even being a 3*. Looked like a recent refurbishment such was the appearance and we would have I hesitation to stay again.

Wonderful place to stay, very clean, very helpful and friendly. The hotel staff gave great recommendations and we had a wonderful time! The location is a bit of a walk from the main attractions but worth it for the value. The breakfast was a very good.

dear guest,
you seemed to be so much the distance, but I do think about this, you have many kilometers to come to florence, how many guests you, because you must break down the enthusiasm 500 meters from the cathedral, 200 meters from the Upper Room in sant 'Apollonia, less than 800 meters from the admirable project of Brunelleschi in san lorenzo. just arrived all'albego are there, missing a few steps to your goal. florence and then look at it with the nose on the top Firenze is a city that tends to go up. higher up as high as you love florence my dear guests, and our hotel, which is your home in the city.
I embrace you and thank you pleased to serve you and i hope soon again

Beautiful decor, quiet and classic elegance at this boutique hotel. Lovely hotel, nice little touches throughout, helpful staff. The only recommendation I would offer is that the maid staff refill the bottled waters each day not just the first one. And that is quite honestly the ONLY thing I would change! Great hotel.

Repallo Hotel, Florence, did not meet our expectations. Inside is modern and clean, but lacks the character one would hope for. Every inch of the inside is painted battleship gray and white. Breakfast was clearly made from canned and packaged goods. Nothing fresh. Staff stays hidden in a room behind the front desk. One must ring a bell to get help. Rapallo could be any chain hotel in the U.S.

Room Tip: Be careful, shower doors do not close tight and room will flood. Look for water stains on the bathr...

dear guest,
thanks for your comment, your opinion is extremely important to us. we believe that the setting of our service is a bit 'different from what you described. breakfast are all fresh products, we have nothing except packaged products for celiac disease as it is of obligation. the type of architectural design, what is called style, is inspired by something typically Florentine, color to black and gray, inspired by the functionality, we had in mind our history from Brunelleschi to Michelucci. Our staff is not hidden, as you say, but it remains confidential, because the protagonist of the hotel is the customer and we think we are service element. that's why we do not tend to exclude us, but to remain in the background. Thank you so much for letting me be noted, however, your opinion, is for me an opportunity to explain again and well, our choices, our approach that may or may not like, but reasons according to the canons of style and professionalism.

We stayed for just two nights and left wishing wee had been able to stay for longer. Not only is Florence a lovely city to visit, the hotel was a most welcoming place to stay. The location is not exactly central but it is pretty convenient. No more than a ten minute walk from the station, it is on the periphery of the main tourist area. Il Doumo is about five minutes away, as is the Accademia Gallery and the Statue of David. Ponte Vecchio is just a little further but in general all the sights are within walking distance and walking round the city is something you will most certainly want to do.

Check-in was seamless and all the staff were friendly. Our room was on the third floor and although it wasn't overly large it was quite delightfully appointed. The bed was comfortable, pillows were soft and there was good storage space. A fridge was available to cool your drinks. The bathroom was clean and modern though it lacked a bath whilst the air conditioning was efficient and quiet. The window overlooked a very small courtyard so the view was of nothing in particular but this was no real problem as we did not book the room expecting stunning vistas. There was a vending machine right outside our door which we feared might have been a noise menace but the noise did not make it through the heavy door. The doors are operated by proximity card readers rather than the usual card in the slot method, which seemed quite modern and high tech.

The hotel has a small breakfast room which does a decent breakfast and it also doubles as a lounge where complimentary snacks and soft drinks are served in the afternoon and evening. This was a really nice touch as wandering round Florence in the June sunshine can be quite hard work! Complimentary wifi is available throughout the hotel, including the bedrooms, which is always a big plus in my opinion. The speed wasn't very high, however, thought it was perfectly adequate for normal browsing.

We were delighted with our stay at the Rapallo and it deserves its high Tripadvisor rating. We would happily stay there again.

If you are looking for a hidden gem, clean and brilliant then this is the hotel you are looking for. The staff were always friendly and polite and bent over backwards to assist you. The rooms are reasonably spacious and very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and intend to go back with my partner.
