“Ideally placed good value hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

This hotel was very comfortable and the staff mainly friendly and helpful (particularly the breakfast room). This is a three star hotel and can rightly claim such. Breakfast was good with a wide selection including fresh fruits and cakes etc, in a pleasant breakfast room (not sure what some reviewers were expecting of a 3 star hotel). It is nicely placed to explore Florence and is handy for the rail station (5 - 10min leisurely stroll with case), Train to Pisa single 7.6 euro. OK the road outside the room window was the via Nationale which was busy but when the windows were shut one couldn't hear anything (and the air conditioning worked quietly and efficiently). Would definitely stay here again.
We visited at the beginning of October and the weather was 'short sleeve warm' so not sure we would like to visit during the summer. But eating out (and we tried various restaurants) can be expensive and rather disappointing particularly if you are on a budget. Ice creams are delicious and generally good value. Advise for visiting Galleria dell'Accademia & Uffizi, go late afternoon to avoid massive queues.

This hotel is on quite a busy road and is siutated beside the main market stalls, but once you step inside you are made very comfortable. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom. The bed was huge with a lovely bedspread. The room was rather dark though and would have benefitted from lighter coloured paint on the wall to lift the gloom a little. The furniture was typically Italian (but with cheap handles on the wardrobe which was a shame). The bathroom was very modern with lots of space. Shower was over bath, wide basin, bidet and toilet. Breakfast provided plenty of choice. The breakfastroom was busy as the hotel seems to be used by bus tours, however, this wasn't a problem. The location is very close to the train station which was great for us and near to the duomo and attractions around that area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back, away from the busy road.

This is a new and clean hotel close to the market. Our room had a patio that was partly covered so you felt as if you were outside but you would not get wet if it rained. It was close to the main attractions of Florence.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel as a couple and found the location fantastic as around the corner from bus terminal from Pisa airport (Ryanair and Easyjet used airport - 70 min by coach from Central Florence - €6 single - about 2 coaches an hour between 2 companies)
But also very close to about everything in Florence and around the corner from the daily non food markets ( huge choice of leather items, scarves and gifts).
Room and bathroom were of decent size and clean with tiled floor.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
On the down side we found breakfast average and were pretty shocked to be charged £10 a day for Wi-fi when it is free to all in the whole city of Florence!!

My Husband and I stayed at this Hotel for 3 days in September 2013. The biggest plus of this hotel was the centralized location, very close to the train station. The rooms were very small and hard to move around with our luggage in the room. Our room faced the street so was very noisy if we opened the window. Air conditioner did not work very well. Overall this hotel is ok for location only.

Room Tip: Would recommend asking for a room that was not off the main streets

I wouldn't have picked this hotel myself but overall it was ok. The biggest plus was its central location, right in the middle of everything - in fact the market was right outside our bedroom.

The bedroom itself was dark, basic, quite small, sparsely furnished but kept very clean by the housekeeping staff and was cool, considering the central location and heat outside, due to the window shutters and effective air conditioning. The bed was very large and comfortable. One of the batteries had been removed from the remote control when we arrived but after a word with Reception, was resolved by that evening.

Breakfast again was ok - the juice was not nice, nor the coffee in the urn but cappuccinos were free if you asked the waiting staff (although there was usually a bit of a wait!). There was only a choice of 3 cereals but a good choice of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, bread and rolls. There was no hot food apart from sliced omelette, which did go cold.

Overall, more for business than holidays, I would say.

This hotel was clean and reasonable. Staff were helpful and we got the quiet room as requested. It's location is the real winner for this hotel. It is close to the station, restaurants and markets. Decent walk though to Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio.
