“Perfect location-breakfast terrible”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and the young Italian man at the desk was very helpful and friendly and as we are older women gave us a room on the lower floor rather than upstairs. The room was next to the breakfast area, however there was no noise whatsoever, very quiet. Beds are very hard, and the shower screen which seems to be the normal for Italy very tiny, so for a tall or larger European this would be difficult. Rooms and hotel very clean. Wifi whilst supposed to be available throughout hotel it drops out regularly however if you go into the sitting area in reception it is fine. Breakfast was probably the worst we have ever had, very dried out tiny pieces of toast (you would not want to eat it), which was a surprise because nearly all of italy serve their wonderful bread, there was muesli, a jam tart, cordial (which I think was supposed be orange juice), I think yoghurt but did not try - in all very poor, but for a budget hotel it was ok. It was certainly down a quiet street and yet you can walk to all the sites of Florence in minutes, very flat a peaceful with plenty of lovely little cafes and patisseries etc along the way. Staff were very friendly - right opposite the University but there is no noise from here. If wanting a budget hotel then this would fine, just don't bother with breakfast you can buy it for around $6 euros down the road in 2 mins.

Room Tip: all rooms seem to be fine

This hotel was chosen by random. We went off the train and walked through a few streets until we was in a quiet area. Luckily we was offered a room by good size. A young man in the reception told us the price for three nights and gave us some information about the hotel. We had breakfast included, as well as wifi. We got a streetmap where he pointet the most famous buildings. Our room was in fact a familyroom and could host four persons. For the two of us it was plenty of space. The room was in groundfloor and a small backyeard was outside. There was no noise outside, nor saturday when the hotel was full booked. The breakfast was served until 10:00. It was basic, bread marmelade and cereals, the breakfast was served by a friendly staff. The best with this budget hotel is the very good location in a quiet part of town. For those who travel on a budget this will be a good choise. We spent three nights in end of february / start of march. In the neighborhood you will find small shops and bars but no noisy restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before you decide.

It is a desent, clean, budget hotel. It was perfect for our weekend at the end of November. Located near the town center is perfect for exploring Beautiful Florence. We didn't have many luxuries but we wanted to visit the town not some 5star ripoff hotel.

Contrary to several of the more recent reviews, a short visit in early October 2013 to this little 2XX hotel in Via Reparata for a short break, proved to be just what was wanted. A ten minute walk from the main rail station and adjacent Airport Bus stop got us to the front door without a hitch!

The welcome was extremely friendly, with viewing of alternative ground floor rooms being offered - and then a choice at no extra cost was made. The room was perfectly clean and well maintained and we were looked after in every way needed. The bedding and towels were replaced, and there was plenty room to spread ourselves and luggage.

The only criticisms we would make is that WiFi is not a very strong signal, and was rather frustrating at times. We ad to request extra coat-hangers for the wardrobe and the TV channels did not include any English Language News programmes. But we survived without any problems.

The Hotel is well located for the Duomo and the old city centre, and restaurants and bars are close by. Breakfast of cereals, fruit, cold platter of meat and cheeses with bread is served in a small restaurant literally just next door which also served a really good 'ethnic' dinner in the evenings.

For an inexpensive location, this place is well worth the money and the stay!

We were supposed to stay at the Hotel Centro, but when we went to check in, the concierge told us that there had been a water break and that they were going to rehouse us at the Veneto. We were led around the corner to our "alternate" accommodations, to find a tiny (10' x 10') room/cell in a hotel very much under construction. The room was so small, there was literally no place to put our suitcases, so we put them out in the narrow hall leading to our door. Our private bath consisted of a 3' x 4' closet with a toilet, sink and drain in the floor and a shower head mounted out from the wall. You soaked the toilet paper roll when you took your shower. A special touch was the odor of raw sewage that wafted up through the shower drain. Not to worry, covering the drain with a wet towel blocked most of the smell. When we asked what the normal rates were for this room, she smiled (she really did) and told us they normally charge 110 Euro per night for it! My advice, don't stay here. If we'd arrived earlier in the day we might have been able to avoid it altogether and find someplace else. As far as first impressions go, my first trip to Firenze may likely be my last...

Having been badly let down by Plus Florence we found ourselves searching for affordable accomodation in central Florence in June/July. Luckily for us the Veneto had re-opened only a week ago so they still had rooms. Our room was clean and airy, the linen new, the furnishing was simple but we did have table, chair, waste bin (unlike the previous reviewer). The bathroom was compact but again, newly re-furbished. There were a few teething issues with breakfast but the staff were keen to help and we noticed an improvement over our 4 night stay. We thought having a/c and a hairdryer was a bonus at the price of the room and the location is excellent for exploring central Florence. We would certainly consider using the hotel again next time we are in Florence.

Clearly either there has been a change of owner or just a total renovation since the last reviews in 2011. The place clearly has just finished a renovation. The place is clean. Good value and goof location. However that said I don't think they have everything together yet after the renovation. Our room had only a bed. Nothing else, no table, no chair, no trash can, nothing. All of our stuff just kind of had to spill out in each corner. There were no shelves in the shower to hold the soap or places to put the towels. Even the cleaning lady did not know where to put the, as when we came back in the afternoon the towel (used one) she had just hung over the handle of the window. Breakfast was fine, although the guy in charge of breakfast was always behind and reactive. He would look at the table of food and seem to think all was good, only there would be an empty bread basket and no more butter. Luckily his was super nice hitch caused you to forgive his constant oversights.
