“If you are going to Florence, be sure to stay here.”
Reviewed 26 April 2012

It was our 2nd time vistit to Florence and 2nd time to visit this lovely little hotel. Where can I begin?
There are so many nice things to say about this hotel, Fantastic location, you can walk to almost anywhere and also only 10 minute-ish walk to train station. Check in comes with welcome drink and snack platter at the small resturant (Yummy snack and wine, was bit dry side but still good), room was big, nice and bathroom with tub. A very useful thing to have. Imagine yourself taking a hot bath after endless hours walking on the streets of Florence. Breakfast was simple but very nice.
And you can have all this without breaking your bank, room rate was very reasonable.
Just a little tip, please ask for a room away from main street (Via Cavour), hotel is located on a busy street and can be quite bothersome every once in while if there is ambulance or ....
If you are going to Florence, be sure to stay here!

We stayed at il guelfo bianco in mid-april. The hotel is very clean with spacious rooms, the location is excellent, and the staff is extremely helpful. We plan to stay there again when we return to Florence in 2 years.

We stayed at this hotel in Nov. 2010 and returned in April 2012. We had a wonderful experience both times at this hotel. The rooms are well-appointed, clean and very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is always with the freshest of foods and very satisfying. The front desk and reception were friendly, helpful and most welcoming. Antonella is a great front desk manager. The hotel is within walking distance and minutes to all major sights. This is the only hotel we would stay at on a return visit to Florence. JG Santa Monica, California

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the street are quieter.

Enjoyed the high ceilings and historic architecture of the rooms and building. Excellent job updating the building while still keeping certain aspects I old building. If you do not like old furniture or architecture, move on. The artisanal olive oil bath products are also very nice. Be warned that air conditioning not available all year and many rooms face the main street so street noise is fairly loud.

Front desk staff helpful, especially the manager and Dario, whom we are indebted to for recommending Grom Gelateria, a definite must.

Location is most convenient to all sites, no car or taxi needed. Lots of restaurants and small convenience stores near by but no large supermarket. This is okay though because the central mercado is very near and has all you'd need.

While the breakfast was mostly continental, this was balanced by the organic produce, jam ,olive oil and bruschetta. Also really loved the parmigiano reggiano cheese available daily.

I spent two nights at this lovely hotel in mid-April. Its location is excellent; the staff was friendlly nd helpful; and my room, a deluxe double, was large, similar to a junion suite. Although it had two windows facing Via Cavour, the triple glazing kept noise from being a problem. While the room was expensive for those of us buying Euros with US diollars, it was a good value. I would love to stay here again.

Room Tip: It's worth paying extra for a larger room.

Definitely one of the best hotels I even tried! It was an important part of my good moments in this beautiful city. If I come back to Florence, I would certainly stay there again.

Il Guelfo Bianco is almost perfect! The rooms are very charming, so as the hotel. Many decoration details make you feel the city and its culture, even from your room! It's romantic and tasteful. All the staff is very nice and helpful. Thanks to them by the way (my english is bad and my italian is worse)!

The hotel is very clean and quiet, don't worry about it. We didn't hear the other clients. It's located just a few minutes from the center. The breakfast is very good.

We tried "Il Desco", the restaurant inside the hotel, it was absolutely amazing and delicious. Don't miss it! You'll spend a very nice moment, for a lunch or snacks. The Desco staff is very nice too!

Il Guelfo Bianco absolutely deserves its excellent rating on Tripadvisor!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. The location was central to all points of interest. I would recommend to my friends and would definitely stay here again if we are so lucky as to return to Florence. The staff made great recommendations and even arranged a few museum visits for us in advance.

Room Tip: We were on the fourth floor and our room was quiet and had a slight view of the Duomo!
