“A place to stay in Florence”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

I have recently stayed at the hotel Anglo Americano in Florence and felt absolutely at home. A cozy place, the Anglo Americano is a large, airy and comfy place to stay if you are in town. Its good-sized rooms are impeccably clean. The lobby is large too and opens up to a very pleasant winter garden where you can lounge whether it is raining or sunny outside. A well-stocked bar is just the right place to be after a day of (window)-shopping on Ponte Vecchio. By the way, it is within walking distance of the Ponte, iif you are a good walker, but if walking is not your thing, you may just admire the sunset on the margins of the Arno River, only a couple of blocks away. I highly recommend this reasonably priced, excellent hotel, so stay there. You won't be disappointed. By the way, their breakfast is substantial.

Room Tip: I stayed at a room on the ground floor. It was excellent. We slept well, even though we were on th...

Cosy hotel within walking distance of the Firenza S.M.N. train station.
Room with mini bar, safe and a small balcony.
There will also be city tax of €4/person/day.
Slightly further to town but walkable within 20 minutes.
Some delis, cafés and restaurants around to explore.
Helpful staffs and decent room.
Will definitely come back again when back in Florence.
Hotel Pricing is competitive and reasonable.

We stayed here for two nights before joining our cruise ship. unbeknown to us we had been upgraded and had a lovely room on the ground floor with Tea and Coffee making facilities (but no milk?!) This room (101) however was very noisey when the staff start unloading the laundry about 7am in the morning. This however did not detract from our stay, we just closed the window. The hotel has a lovely traditional feel about it and the breakfast was lovely. We bought a two day ticket for the City Sight buses, one of the stops is not too far from the hotel on the main road. We hopped on and off as we pleased and this way were able to see more of the sights of Florence than we could possibly have done on foot. If we visit Florence again we would definately consider this hotel.

We are very happy of our stay, it will be even better if we can control the air- conditioning to a lower temperature. Overall, the front desk is very helpful and courteous, adequate Internet speed in the room. Extensive choices at the breakfast buffet. Close to all attractions.
We will stay again

This hotel was absolutely charming, the staff were superb they couldn't have been more polite and helpful. They even let us practise our pigeon Italian on them and helped us along!!! Superb breakfast, room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. The room was in need of a tiny bit of tlc but we were told on departure that a refurb is being carried out later in the summer however it did not detract at all from the charm of the place. Lovely courtyard area with sofas to relax. Location wise we found it ideal, a short walk out of town so nice and peaceful at night but very close to the river so we walked that way each day to wherever we wanted to visit. Please, please try this little gem of a place!!!

We stayed at this hotel one night before catching a flight out of Florence. Although this is a standard, comfortable hotel, our experience was excellent due to Elizabeth at the front desk. She was extremely helpful in finding us a nice room that had two bedrooms for three adults. She also surprised us and had all our luggage delivered to our room when we returned from our outing, this was much appreciated, as it would have been a lot for my parents to lift heavy suitcases up a flight of stairs to get to our room. Elizabeth also helped my mother print our boarding passes and made a phone call for us to check if a garden was open. My parents had dealt with Elizabeth at another NH hotel and had similar great customer service dealing with her.

We also appreciated the breakfast buffet that was included in our stay. It was an elegant room with a good selection of food.
