“What great service!”
Reviewed 22 December 2013 via mobile

Outstanding service. Oh and the food is really good also. We stayed at an apartment a few steps away. The owner recommended this place. Not his favorite, but a favorite of some of his guests. We walk past this place every day we were in Florence. It looks like they change the menu daily. We had a mushroom tortellini that was excellent. Bread soup was great. Roasted pork/ham with mushroom sauce (a mushroom theme for me!) was great. One of our party had the monkfish (she thought it a little salty) while another the veal chop. Both very good.

My mother had the octopus which she did not care for. The waiter saw that she did not care for it and asked if they could make another dish for her. She was full from sharing ours so she did not order another dish. They came back with a free flan and didn't charge for the octopus. This is something I might expect in the US but not in Europe.

They speak English and are extremely friendly. Really more a local place than a tourist place as it's a little away from the tourist areas.

“Good food and excellent service”
Reviewed 17 November 2013 via mobile

The food was good but the best thing was the service by Andrea ("coccolo") and the other members of the staff were friendly too.
Attention: DON'T MISS THE "Bistecca alla fiorentina"
You would regret it for your life

“Good neighborhood restaurant”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

We stayed in the hills of Florence about 3-4 miles outside the city center. Trattoria Cesarino was nearby and recommended by our local Fiorentini hosts. This restaurant is small, on a lower street level with tables outside. The food was fresh with a good selection of local fare. This is a great choice of a typical Florentine restaurant.

“Welcoming and Warm with Good Solid Food”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

We tried the Trattoria Cesarino at the recommendation of the staff at our hotel. We visited on a very rainy and blustery evening. We found the ambiance very comfortable and welcoming.
We were offered a complimentary glass of prosecco while we perused the menu which was solid with a very good selection of the expected fare.
The highlight dish was Florentine beef. It was a generous portion, perfectly cooked. The rest of the dishes were competent, if not memorable. The house wine was pleasant and reasonably priced.
The service was relaxed, friendly, and paced well.
Trattoria Cesarino is perhaps a little off the "beaten track", but well worth the short walk. It would certainly be a "regular" if we lived in Florence.
