The location of Hotel Alessandra is very convenient, as it puts you near all the major attractions in Florence. I wouldn't give this hotel 5 stars though because the value for the price I don't think is there (although the value is much better than you'd find in most of Florence). While the hotel is nice in many ways, the room quality could be improved greatly.

AMAZING!!!! The rooms are HUGE! No really, it was like staying in an apartment. Cathedral ceilings, large windows, massive marble bathroom, big beds.

There was a great breakfast but in case you missed it Andre can easily recommend fantastic restaurants. We had the best pizza ever thanks to him. Plus, he told us of a new "secret" spot where the view is almost better than Piazzale Michelangelo.

Love it! We can't quite compare ourselves to the Duomo (cathedral) here in Florence, but we think our big rooms and big spaces made you feel rather important and maybe a little 15th century noble! How cool.

Thank you for choosing us and thank you for sharing.

Well why stay anywhere else if you can call this place home! I always choose to stay here because of Andrea, Anna, Monte, and the staff that tend to your needs & expectations. The location is ideal to fall in love with everything it offers. Andrea welcomed me back and had me stay in a lovely room overlooking the Arno River; a lovely view! My bed was comfortable including the pillow, the bathroom was bigger than my own :) shower & bath included, no hot water issues, a tv (I watch Italian tv channels when I'm there & it's a small thrill to watch the standard North American series/shows in Italian), but you can watch English language channels as well. The included breakfast is a welcome choice other than just a pastry. The ladies will make you fresh coffee/cappucino/espresso- a must, unless you prefer from a coffee machine. There will be fresh fruit & yogurt, granola/cereals as well in addition to their standard of breads, meats & cheeses. The room also had a small fridge for you to store anything you need to. You will also find your own personal 'safe' for your valuables. There are restaurants, produce markets, leather shops just to mention a few- on the same street. Ponte Vecchio is 2 blocks behind the hotel, The Uffizi Gallery is 2 blocks straight ahead on the same street, Piazza della Repubblica, Il Duomo, SMN stazione ferroviaria; ALL are within reasonable walking distance, seriously. This was my third stay at Hotel Alessandra and while in Florence, I wouldn't & don't stay anywhere else.

Last year, we stayed at the Hotel Alessandra, in the heart of Florence, as the first stay on our Italian vacation. Because of Andrea and Monti, each day there was special, fun filled, and delightful. Not only was our room perfect in every way, the view was charming, the location excellent, the breakfasts delightful and social, and each and every request that we made was met with a smile and "of course".
Thank you for these memories that are still fresh.
Hoping to return one day.

Glad we caught a taxi from the railway station, with all the little laneways and squares we may not have easily found the hotel. It is located in an old building and so long as you follow the directions on their web site you will be able to get in. It is good value and we prefer the older hotels to the bland chain hotels as they are more interesting and this hotel was. Cheerful and helpful staff and an interesting lift, had trouble trying to push the wife and one suitcase into it though (oops).
The hotel is well located to see the major sites in Florence, we could walk to all the places we wanted to see. As a result of all this we slept well every night, we found the beds quite comfortable.
The rooms were of a good size and while the cupboards etc were old, they suited the room. Also I liked the prints down the corridors. Some people might consider that the rooms were old looking but that is what makes the hotel so interesting. But it would ruin the character of the hotel to try to make it look "modern looking".
Yes I would stay here again if I ever make it to Florence again.
