This Hotel was a fanatastic surprise after travelling on the Italian rail network !
Once we arrived in Florence, we caught a cab to the Hotel which is actaully in walking distance to the Train station. Arriving at the Hotel we immediately had a 'good feel' and our instincts were right... From the service, Location, cleanliness and style of the Hotel we had a great stay. It is reasonably central to all the sights and trasport is not far away. If driving, just be weary of the 'No drive' permit zones as I recieved to fines when I returned home !!! The roof top dining is a highlight .......We would Highly recommend this Hotel and very reasonable priced...

We recently spent several nights here. The location was quite convenient to sites we wanted to see and there were a number of good restaurants located close by. The room was very quiet and the bed comfortable and the bath was recently modernized. However, the antique furniture, while charming allowed no space for us to unpack. Instead of a dresser, we had a drop leaf desk. Ever try to put your clothes into a desk drawer? When we needed to charge our camera battery, we had to unplug one of the only two dim table lamps in the room. Internet access was an extra charge and didn't work well at all. Usually could not get our email. The staff maintained that "no one else had complained." However, it was a common complaint during our stay. The staff was very accommodating if you asked a question, but otherwise were very indifferent and seemed to not want to be bothered by guests. Our room had no safe. We asked to use the hotel safe and were told that only the manager had a key, and since it was Sunday evening, it would take at least two hours to have him come in and accept our valuables! They suggested we change rooms and promised to look into that, but never did.
Of the three hotels on our trip, this one ranked last.

Every staff was friendly and greeted us. The garden terrace on the roof was delightful (despite occasional pigeons eagerly waiting), and I've never seen the amount of food and good quality that this hotel offered. Yes the furniture (not the bed) was a little tired, but the rooms were large and felt like they belonged in Florence. i'd stay here again anytime.

We stayed at the Tornabuoni last week (10th Sept) and it was a pleasure to come back to each evening. The hotel's location could not be better, only 10 minutes walk from the Railway station (with luggage!) and just a few minutes to the Ponte Vecchio.

We think the rooms are variable in quality as they are updating them gradually. The first room they showed us was newly finished to a very high standard but was extremely dark and had no view other than a very close street wall opposite that was undergoing building work. At our request they were very happy to offer us a room on the top floor at no extra cost, which, although was old and in need of some refurbishment did have two very large windows, lots of space and very high ceilings. The "olde worlde" look added to the authenticity and charm of the room and we were very comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent and although there were no cooked offerings, everything was fresh and the coffee was perfect. A word of warning though, the roof terrace looks a nice place to have breakfast but the gangs of pigeons are almost intolerable, so we ate inside mostly.

We would stay at this hotel again.

Even though it was the middle of winter and pouring rain, the staff in this hotel went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms were dated but very clean. The cleaning staff were very courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. Would gladly stay there again.

This was our third stay at this hotel. The hotel's location is unsurpassed. Upon arrival, the first room we were offered had torn upholstery and stained furniture, and the Wi-Fi did not work. We asked for another room, and we immediately received a free upgrade to a very pleasant suite with lovely frescoes (and working Wi-Fi). Service was impeccable, and the front desk staff were as always extremely helpful. We loved dining on the roof terrace. (It would be wise for management to invest in something such as a fake owl to scare away the pigeons) BTW if you book directly with the hotel, you receive free Wi-Fi.
