“The little things ”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and on first appearance the hotel was clean, tidy and a good location. It's close to the train station and only a 5 minute walk to a few attractions. The room was a decent size and the hotel had brochures of things to do.

But it was the little things that bought it down.
1. The aircon, was very the noisy the first night and when we asked to have it turned down the second night it was simply turned off. Which meant it got very stuffy and to open the windows meant there was a lot of noise from the street. I couldn't sleep because it was so stuffy and when it was on my partner had to sleep with a pillow over his ears.. Something really needs to be addressed with how much noise it puts out.
2. I know it's normal to have breads etc for breakfast in Europe but there was no protein of any kind served for breakfast in the hotel, not even boiled eggs. We had to eat out for breakfast both mornings even though it was included in our rate.
3. The second night after issues with the aircon someone left a toilet running for hours and we could hear it for ages, it was so noisy that it made it even more difficult to sleep. It was even in a room, it was just a toilet on that level. The noise seems to travel through the walls.

As I said there are some good points about this place but all we needed from the hotel was a place to sleep and that didn't really happen. I probably wouldn't recommend it on that simple fact.

Hotel was situated on a busy road which was quite noisy on a night.Aircon didn't work most of the time and certainly never during the night cause they turned it off.Free wi fi didnt manage to reach our room 120 .although you could get it in the breakfast room and maybe in rooms nearer to there ? Staff on front desk were not unfriendly but not very welcoming either .Breakfast room was far too small and the quantity of food was poor ,they kept running out of things like ham and you had to make do ,it always appeared to be overcrowded with little room to move .It wasn't too far to walk to from the station which is the reason we booked it about 15 minutes, and the Dumo and Uffizi were within easy walking distance ,on a night when it got dark you had to walk through some streets which during the day had the market situated in them and there were a lot of shady characters milling around ,during the day though it wasnt a problem .All in all just marginally above a basic hotel .

Room Tip: keep off the main road side for noise on a night and try to get near to reception for Wi Fi

Good-ish location. Just don't go up to the park 1/2 a block away. You'll come across seedy people taking pharmaceuticals and drinking.

Reception:
- The old Italian guy makes you feel like you should leave as soon as you enter. The Asian immigrant workers were much more hospitable though.

Internet:
- It's free witch is great. Can you use it to load anything? Nope. Can't even stream a basic audio file on YouTube. (I was staying in 103, it's about 3 M away from front desk wall to wall).

Housekeeping:
- Went a full day with no toilet paper, the 2 glasses I had were left in the room, even though they decided they would make the beds. Once the glasses were finally washed, it looked as if they had rinsed them with cold water and wiped them with my towel. Reception claimed that "sometimes the dish washer doesn't do so well". Nice.

Beds:
- Quite comfortable, considering you're laying on such a narrow surface that you feel like you're about to roll off even though you hardly moved.

Anyway. Sure, stay here. Just don't expect much.

Room Tip: Not 103? If you get a higher room you'll probably hear less noise.

Room was very clean and good space. Cool and quiet in spite of busy and hot holiday season. Facilities very good and wifi best I have come across in hotels. Breakfast fresh and adequate. Staff very helpful and friendly. Best thing is how close to centre this hotel is. Close enough to return for a shoe change or rest before the next foray into the very hot weather. Florence felt very safe and is much more relaxed than Rome. Traffic was not a problem but mind the cyclists!

Room Tip: 2nd floor back are quiet but no view.

Location central enough but seedy district. Very basic facilities in room although good size. Very basic breakfast with narrow range of food and not enough of it. Very slippery bath. More lodging house than serviced hotel.

I booked a family member to stay here for 7 nights recently, and he couldn't say enough nice things about this hotel. Wifi had great coverage, staff very friendly and breakfast was great. Great area and located close to the station and within walking distance to main attractions. 3 star hotel and worth the price paid!

We stayed for for 5 days with 2 adult children.
Location is great. Within walking distance to the main train station. Close the shops and.a laundrette. The room for 4 was basic and spacious. Good wifi in the rooms The bathroom was spacious but didn't have a shower only a bath which was a little inconvenient.
Breakfast was average and coffee was terrible.
