3 unforgetable days/nights in Florence at the end of June. Excellent location within walking distance to all of the main monuments. Great service with personable staff. The room has ample with a large window and a spectacular view of Santa María Novella. The bed very large and confortable.

We had a basquet of fresh fruit upon arrival and a bottle of Champagne soon after. There is a peaceful patio with nice shadow and both lemon and orange trees. Perfect for breakfast or a delicious after lunch coffee. We arranged tickets for the Academia & Ufizzi Museum at the from desk with the help of Flora. Also helped us with the restaurants as well ...

We will definetely repeat.

My friend and I did a lot of research on where to stay and finally settled on Palazzo Dal Borgo. It is such a great hotel! I would definitely go back and stay longer. The hotel staff was so nice and helpful. They upgraded our room, which had a wonderful view. The room had great air conditioning, a very nice marble bathroom, a nice TV...everything we needed. The best part about the hotel is the terrace where they servce breakfast. It's so peaceful and relaxing, and they serve the BEST cappuccino in the world. I don't even like coffee and I had one every morning!

We stayed in room 18, which overlooked the patio off the bar, breakfast area. It was really lovely. The room was huge compared to European standards. It was very clean and the it was a treat to have a coffee/tea service in the room. It was nice to hear the clinking of the cups/utensils in the morning when I opened the shutters and windows. Great AC as well.
The only reason I gave the room a 4 was because the instead of a double it was 2 twin beds put toghether and made it a wee bit uncomfortable. Otherwise its a lovely place to stay.
The staff were helpful and wonderful, the breakfast had lots to offer including eggs, bacon, meets, cereals, yogurt, milk, juices, croissants, pastries, choices of coffee and teas. it was really very nice.
There is a laundry close by (out the front of the hotel, turn right, down a few blocks on the right hand side. Very convenient. The restaurant out of the door to the right and first one you come to has great pizza, beer and meat plate.
Noteworthy places....Harry's Bar on the Arno and La Posta Ristorante ....excellent food/service.
I would stay at this hotel again if I was ever to get back to Florence....thanks for such a nice stay!

The hotel is in an excellent location, easy walking distance from train station and near all sights of Florence.
The staff were friendly and helpful. They all spoke perfect English. We stayed at the hotel twice as we went to Lucca for a few days and they happily allowed us to leave our large suitcase with them while we were away
Our room was absolutely wonderful;gorgeous views, large , very comfy ,beds even an extra balcony for hanging washing. It felt like we were coming home after our little side trip to Lucca
On the advice of other trip advisor reviews we had requested and received a quiet room with a view ,at the back of the hotel . We were told by others that the front rooms are very noisy .
The breakfasts in the courtyard were very pleasant

Within easy walking distance of all interesting churches, museums and art stores. Helpful staff, charming building, spacious room (although the bathroom was a little cramped). Had an excellent breakfast every morning in the courtyard, smilingly served by Andrea (ask for his decorated cappucino!) We have been to Florence several times but would seriously consider going back to this hotel again.

I was booking in last fortnight and was primarily looking for somewhere luxurious, good value and close to Santa Maria Novella Stazione. I loved this place! Charming and historically authentic yet all the mod cons.Actually had tea and coffee making,TV and bar fridge.Bed was a bit hard but I had an excellent night sleep. Breakfast was great with cup of tea, fruits, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, breads, toast and yoghurts and jams,The service was excellent. Even got a special capuccino after my cup of tea.
Staff could speak English and were very helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel!

As stated, we booked this hotel through the Travelzoo promotion, which gave us rates of about 70 EURO per night. Apparently the hotel normally charges way more than that. I'm not so sure it's worth those normal prices, but it is a lovely hotel.

Tucked away about six blocks from the Duomo, and about three blocks from the train station (cutting through Piazza Santa Maria Novella), the Palazzo Dal Borgo does have some luxury to it. The outdoor patio with orange trees, lemon trees, and rose bushes. The breakfast room with the fresco above. The private patios on some ground floor rooms (although watch for ants coming in from the private patio... we left our door open to get some air in the room and ended up with ants everywhere in the room, including the bed, which the hotel promptly fixed for us).

Rooms were spacious, well-appointed. The true star was the huge marble bathroom with heated towel racks.

Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but not necessarily outgoing. However, the hotel did help me surprise my wife for her birthday with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and snacks in the garden. The breakfast attendant and bartender are both extremely friendly and gracious (the breakfast attendant noting that I looked particularly sleepy one morning and on his own bringing me a double shot of espresso).

Requested a quiet room and received a wonderfully quiet room that did not face the street. However, being so close to the Basilica di Santa Maria Novella, you will inevitably hear the bells tolling at 7:00 a.m. If this is a problem for you, bring earplugs.

As stated, there are probably hotels closer, but the Palazzo Dal Borgo was only about a 10-15 minute leisurely walk to the Duomo and the main historic districts and Piazzas of Florence. Plus, the area around the hotel is slightly less touristy than those areas which surround the Duomo. There are some nice restaurants tucked away in the surrounding neighborhood - ask the front desk for suggestions.

All told, a very enjoyable stay. Not sure it's worth the list rate, but for 70 EURO per night, even probably double that, it's absolutely worth it.
