This is a family run hotel which is beautifully situated on the hill above the town and has a magnificent view. It is great to return to the peace and tranquility after a hectic day in town. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast is buffet style and fine. They will serve simple snacks in the evening which are also good. My family has stayed here several times over many years and the hotel has never disappointed. It is an ideal place to stay as it is very easy to get to the centre and has ample parking if you come by car. Highly recommended.

The hotel is just outside the centre in a lovely area. We had a great room with an amazing view of the city. The value for money was superb and we would wholeheartedly recommend. The owners / staff are absolutely superb and cannot help enough which really did make the stay very special. Didn't eat here and frankly it was very quiet in the evenings so probably wouldn't have considered doing so. The consideration is whether you mind staying outside the very centre - on reflection it is not that far away and with the odd taxi or bus it is fairly easy and bearing in mind the fantastic setting I would definitely opt to stay here again.

Our family stayed here for 6 days in the summer and found the hotel to be beautifully maintained by the owners and extended family. The hotel probably hasn't changed much in the last 50 years but the old fashioned approach is appealing. We liked the little touches such as fresh towels every day and bed spread turned down every night and towel put on the floor! The swimming pool was amazing in 40 degree heat.
At times we felt a little uncomfortable as the atmosphere was very formal - but overall it was a pleasant stay.

One of the reasons we had chosen this Hotel was the availability of in-room air conditioning as advertised. When we arrived we were informed, that it is only working from June to August. The problem was not so much the temperature during the night, but sleeping with the windows open, invites all the biting insects to enter the room, which can make sleeping very uncomfortable. We had to check out one night earlier as planed because of this problem.

This is a lovely hotel about 30-40 min walk from the town (up hill on the return) and definitely not 20 min like some reviews say. It is easy to catch a bus and a cab from town only costs 8 euro if you catch it south side of the river. The room was very clean and comfortable, we had a room with a balcony in the "little house". The owners and their staff are very welcoming and relaxed and nothing is too much trouble. It is a little haven outside of Florence away from the hustle and bustle. Would stay there again, excellent value.
Negatives:
Bar closes at 10.30, no mini bar or fridge in the room, would have been nice to keep the Prosecco chilled.
No selection of bread at breakfast, just white rolls. Toast would have been nice
The hotel is slightly dated but this just adds to it's charm. All in all a lovely weekend break.

We stayed 3 nights, first 2 in the better front facing rooms, great balcony with gorgeous garden views. The place itself is lovely and quiet location wise amongst what look to be gorgeous, quite substantial Florence homes and attractions. The walk into town is a downhill brisk 30 min strut that we loved, even loved the much harder climb back each evening with way too much pasta under our belts!
Quite close to bus or cab easy enough to call from concierge. It's certainly no five star hotel (does not claim o be either). but as its own rhythm and quirky style. The "Manuel" style breakfast waiters are very quaint and the family who run the hotel friendly and helpful. We didn't dine there in the evenings, breaky was ok, Europe just refuses to feed any eggs in the morning, not the hotels fault! Lol.....(Europe must have one small flaw? ). I wasn't the biggest fan of the bed, however again, we are not talking 5 star...pillows need replacing, that would help. There is a pool and whilst not massive it's lovely to lie around and soak up some sun. All in all we enjoyed our stay and Florence itself is no to be missed!

Room Tip: Choose a front acing room with blond, well worth it!

Very efficient receptions staff, multilingual family run hotel. Off Street Parking guaranteed to all guest. Very spacious rooms most have good views of the city. Breakfast is quite good and always enjoyable with some quirky moments which start the day with a bit of fun. (there were 6 of us) and we had great 'craic' with the staff much to the bemusement of other guests. The pool is a great bonus....but it comes with a warning if you are susceptible to Mossy Bites. I think I was flavour of the week when I was there and yet 4 of our party had no issue. Hotel Villa Belvedere is one of the best hotels in Florence and is well worth a stay. I know I will be back.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a city view. most room s have a view but not all have a city view.
