“Favorite Hotel in Italy”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

We have stayed at La Scaletta before, so we were very intrigued by this new addition to their property. It was far beyond our expectations!

We stayed in the "Brown" room. The suite is huge, even by American hotel standards. It is at least 3 times as big as the room we had stayed in at La Scaletta. The room had a very comfortable sofa (also is a sleeper) and two chairs. All the decor is European contemporary. The lighting is very aesthetically pleasing. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed we have ever experienced. Even the pillows were outstanding! It has a built-in surround sound system with an iPod dock. The wifi service in the room was very good (when we first tried it, we couldn't connect. We called the desk and they immediately had someone reset it).

The bathroom was an experience in itself. Our room had two lavatories. The toilet and bidet were sleek, cantilever design. The shower entices you to stay and play - hand held shower, massaging head, horizontal jets, and an over head rain shower with mood lighting.

This hotel room is accurately portrayed in their website pictures - no disappointments!!

Their breakfast choices are wide and breakfast is taken with La Scaletta in their breakfast room (no more cats walking around on the tables) or on their rooftop terraces. From the terraces are expansive views of the city and the Boboli Gardens.

We were there to experience the opening of their new restaurant for the rooftop - The Panorama Restaurant. The meal we had was wonderful - one had sea bass with rosemary potatoes, the other had grilled, king prawns. We had a special apple cake/tart with caramel sauce and vanilla gelato for dessert. Our waiter, Emmanuel was delightful.

The staff was very friendly and always helpful.

The location is great - between the Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo di Pitti. The Uffizi Guesthouse is on the bottom floor, only a few steps up.

Room Tip: The brown room was very quiet and private. Had windows but no view.

A stay at the Uffizi Guesthouse is having a large private bedroom, bath, TV & Internet, in a fantastic location at an amazing price! Easy access to The Hotel La Scalletta which provides excellent hospitality to all Uffizi Guesthouse guests. A private courtyard entrance leads to either the elevator (smaller than usual but sufficient) or one flight of stairs to the guest-room section of this amazing 15th-century building located between Florence's Ponte Vecchio Bridge and the Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens. Breakfast is served in La Scalletta and it is wonderful. Even more wonderful is the rooftop terrace views which are truly some of the best available in Florence encompassing the city skyline, Boboli Gardens and surrounding hillsides. Everything is within walking distance.

Room Tip: Sunrise & sunset on roof top "nest" is not to be missed!

The uffizi guesthouse is an excellent choice. Prime location, very spacious rooms, very clean, no tiring steps and above all a private spa bathroom to relax after sightseeing.A short walk from the sights and night life. Modern ambience , more than enough and well chosen furniture. The staff very helpful and friendly.there is no need to walk up the stairs or use to lift as it's so convenient to enter through th main door. Highly recommended.

The Uffizi Guesthouse is on the walk-in level (and is a part of) the larger Hotel La Scaletta. The short steps to Pitti Palace and the mere minutes to Ponte Vecchio make this location prime, along with the fact that this is one of the largest rooms in Florence for the money. The room contains a couch, closet/drawers, desk, new hardwood floors, and a surround-sound audio system. The bathroom space is generous containing a tropical rain shower with "mood lights" and jets that stream water from the walls. The service we received at check-in was prompt and we did not have any issues during our stay. Above all, the most enjoyable part of the Guesthouse/Hotel La Scaletta is the rooftop terrace. The views are breathtaking!

I would definitely recommend this hotel as being amazing value for the price!

This boutique guest house is part of a larger hotel (Hotel Scaletta).

The rooms in the guesthouse portion are new, the bathroom huge and well equipped.

The service was spectacular (Sarah walks on water.), the location excellent, and the price comparable.

The view from the top balcony is superb.

I will stay there again (and I’m really, really picky).

Room Tip: Ask for the Blue Room.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful at all times. We came in late, midnight and with an extra person, and still that was not a problem at all, the staff were very helpful. It is near all of Florence´s main tourist attractions. Coming into the room was very quiet and peacful, very different from what goes on out on the street. The room was big, spacious, and clean. The shower was spacious. They have a terrace bar and restaurant. The complimentary breakfast served was very good. It is excellent value and great place to stay.
