“Comfort and Convenience in Florence”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

For one week in Florence, we enjoyed comfort. We loved the location of this lovely hotel with the ease of using our own key to come and go. While we had a balcony to view the street life and activity of Dei Pucci and Riccasoli below, it was quiet when we closed the door and windows at night. It was so close to the Leather Market, the Duomo, 8-10 minute walk to Train Station with plenty of caffe's and shops. Marina and Rosella were good with assistance on any requests and we found their advice excellent. Even though the breakfast area was cramped, guests found atmosphere of "gathering in the kitchen" and found needs met with tasty food. Since we were on the go, the lack of a gathering place with others did not bother us. Nice size bathroom with a wonderful bed and extra chairs made the room delightful. They were so quick and efficient with room cleaning. We would recommend it as a perfect match for Florence.

Room Tip: No 14 had the balcony. Although, being close to stairs, we did hear other guests as they came and w...

Residennza Dei Pucci was an excellent choice for our stay in Florence. The location is close to the train station, the museums, restaurants and shops. The price was great. The staff was friendly and helpful; looking up tour information and making reservations for us. Our room was very clean and quiet and spacious. The breakfast room was small but a fun place to meet other travelers. We would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Florence.

Room Tip: We needed a minimum number of steps, there is no elevator. So we asked for a room on the first floo...

The location of Residenza Dei Pucci is superb, you're right in the centre, minutes from the Duomo and I guess 10 minutes walk from the station (that's including negotiating the tourists and pulling 2 cases). It is really convenient to pop back if you've forgotten something.

Room was perfectly clean and extremely spacious, nice clean bathroom with good sized shower. Beds were extremely comfortable. As previous reviewers have said breakfast is tricky and for us was not a problem as our room was next to the breakfast area so we had trays and ate in the room which had a good sized table. There is also a good café/bar opposite which does a good breakfast and drinking water is available on the entrance floor

The only problem for us was no lift and we had to lug the cases up several flights of stairs, we chose this hotel based on cost as it seems hotels in Florence like to squeeze the tourists' wallet

Staff were extremely helpful and informative

Room Tip: If you're an older person I would say ask for a room on lower floor or try somewhere else with...

We stayed on the top floor of this great B&B for two nights in mid-May. Our room was a large master suite with a separate bedroom with two twin beds, where our college-age daughters slept. Amazing view of the Duomo from the main room - incredible. A fabulous location in Florence.... easy to walk to everything. We didn’t need a cab the entire stay.

Nice breakfast room and wonderfully friendly and helpful management. Our stay felt like living in Florence for a few days! We will be back and would stay here again in a minute.

Tip: Call ahead - or request via email - DETAILED AND SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS TO DRIVE HERE if you must drive. Otherwise, DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE IN FLORENCE.

I booked this hotel due to the positive comments, and ofcourse its location.

With regards to the location s is superb!! less than a minute walk to the duomo, which is pro as we stayed out late night and we had no problems getting back. The reception closes at 8pm, but the room key matches the main door, which I believe that it matches all the rooms, and I felt pretty unsafe because of my belongings.

The breakfast, a total disaster,a jam tart, pavesi crackers. cereal, a jug of milk, a pine apple and orange juice, some bread to make some toast, and jam! on our first breakfast there we woke up late and went at about 9.15am for bfast, we didnt find anything, a small corridor with a table on the side, about 5 chair round it, and people are sitting having bfast while i had to be ignorant and take some food which was infront of them, I decided to than take my breakfast into my room, just a packet of pavesi crackers, and some nutella, a so unfair breakfast for those who dont eat sweet things, which infact I am one of them, and I found it hard to have a healthy breakfast! I ve been to many hotels, b&b and accommodations throughout the world, but this was my worst!

The worst experience there was the bedroom, we had 6 nights booked there, when we arrived, the receptionists a lady , was very friendly, she gave us a room next to the reception, the bed and such were fine, clean, and newly refurbished parquet. When we came back at night, and went to have a shower, the floor tiles in the shower were disastrous, the water does nt go down the drain, and we told the guy who was at the reception, that I wasnt expecting to get that type of shower at the price I payed. He understood us immediately, and told us that the day after we were getting a new room to spend the rest of 5 nights there, the next day, we were out in firenze, and at about 3pm we had to return to the residence to move out our luggage to the new room, when we arrived he told us that we were staying for another night in different room, and the day after we would change the room again! We didnt accepted as It was inefficient for us to return back to the residence another day and ruin our plans! But he managed to arrange and we stayed in the room for the rest of the stay. It was room 23 I guess, on the 2nd floor.

Rooms are equipped with a.c which works fine just some noises.

A positive thing is that there is an excellent wifi connection, and the reception guy is really helpfull, as he did his best to accommodate us.

A positive thing also is that the b&b features accessible rooms for people with disabilities, I know that because the 2nd room we got, had a special features in the bathroom, which I noted that they were there for people with disabilities such as elderly, and wheel chair users, and the room was quite spacious. A negative thing was that there was no lift.

I still recommend this hotel, as it has a perfect location, and the rooms are clean and fine, our problem was the bathroom , and the breakfast which is served after 8.30

Room Tip: get a room on the 2nd floor

Beautiful old home, now a well restored 24 room inn. Our family group had three rooms, all very clean and pleasant. The nicest was #24, on the top of the building, with views of the Duomo. Location was ideal to all of the central attractions of Florence. Breakfast was marginal, requiring the services of a nice café just across the street. Innkeeper was very helpful, with good advice and recommendations. I would happily stay again.

Room Tip: Room #24. Even has a view from the shower!

I booked this hotel direct ANC got a great price on a pay in advance, no cancellation rate. What a lovely, tranquil room ... Spacious too. Absolutely perfect location... A Leisurely walk to Doumo, museums and a 10 min walk to train station. We loved this place and the welcoming staff. Tiny breakfast nook means you'll down your quick coffee and pastry, make friends with fellow travelers and be on your way post haste. This is not a big bustling hotel ... More like a B&B in the non from-froo sense. No elevator and the rooms are on different floors. We would definitely stay here again !
