Minutes from the train station and near everything! Room was small but we expected that. We weren't there much so didn't really matter! In spite of being in the heart of the city, the room was very quiet. Staff was courteous and pleasant and ever ready to help. Would recommend to friends.

This is a very fair hotel, very close to Santa Maria Novella train station. Very good location at walking distance from all main touristic spots. I would recommend to book a superior room, since the standard one is very small. There isn't an elevator from ground floor to First floor where the recption is located. Very warm staff. There is a happy hour between 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Very good cost benefit relation.

Room Tip: Consider the suprior room when making a reservation.

Thi hotel is very well located. We could do almost everything in Florence by walk. Nice and helpfull staff. Good breaksfast, and clean rooms. They offer very nice 1 day excursions. I recommend it. Its a nice place to stay. But is good to know: the lift is very small!

The staff are simply amazing. They are so kind, friendly and always willing to help. We got good tips on restaurants and things to see/do. We stayed in an economy suite on the front of the hotel. The street does quiet down at night and I am extremely sound sensitive even with earplugs. That said, I slept well. The room was small, but it was an economy room. The bathroom had a large shower and there was a safe and a closet with a good number of hangers. The AC worked well and the windows can be made so that all light is blacked out. My one issue is that you can hear it when people come home or are moving furniture (chairs) around on the tile floors. Really, this is not something that would cause me to not stay here again. The location is so prime! The staff were simply outstanding.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floor on the side that doesn't face the street.

My husband and I stayed in Florence for 10 days, to explore the Tuscan region, and were disappointed with our hotel choices. There was no lobby from street level, but only after taking two flights of stairs - with no help from the hotel staff, who gracefully welcomed us "this is only a 3-star hotel, what did you expect?". Room was incredibly small, and so was the bathroom, with plastic shower curtains and no space for our toileteries. The elevator was tiny and demanded us to keep pressing the button to go up and down. Breakfast was very simples (they didn't have a kitchen), but the service was kind and friendly. Location was good and efficient, close to the train station and main touristic sites. Wifi connection was also good, but the computer offered in the reception was ridiculous, and didn't connect with a printer.

Stayed at room 101 for 3 nights on Aug 2-5. It is not appropriate to compare its front, hallway or size to Marriot or Ritz as some reviews did, please do not make such comparison. However, it is so enjoy every moment there. Room 101 is very reasonable size and good enough for 2 adults and 2 teens. Except some kitchen smell on the 1st entering, generally beds and newly remodeled bathroom are very clean. It was hot and humid with 101-104 degree when we were there, but the AC for both rooms are powerful and able cool us down shortly after entering the room from super hot outside. Nearby there are couple of hotels with comparable size, such as Hotel City and Hotel S.Giorgio. Globus rate was slightly cheaper when we made reservation and has better value on cost, with breakfast included. The hotel is very close to Firenze Central train station which is essential for you to go to Pisa. After climbing Leaning Tower and walked a whole day at 102 degree in Pisa, you may just have energy to walk from station to Globus (< 5 min walk); also it is close to bus terminal which is recommended on the web for the trip to Siena. Globus perfectly fits our needs because we planned to visit both Pisa and Siena. Because we planned to take a train to Paris, so we did not bring a lot of T-shirts and US currency, but there is nothing to worry about at Globus, near by there is an Express Wash and a Bancomat ATM. Express Wash has detergent and softener, so just bring your dirties and let new laundry and dryer clean that for you. Also please do not bring hundred thousands US dollars there, simply bring your card (as long as card provider does not charge you transaction fee) and you will have trouble free (without pay 2-3% currency exchange commissions). All attractions in Florence are within walking distance from Globus. There are many restaurants outside of Globus on Via Faenza (Globus is at corner of Faenza street and Sant Antoniono Street), including Chinese (Spicy Chongqing and non-spicy Cantonese style), Italian pizza (Nerone) and others. Globus also has "Happy Hour" starting from 6:30 (till 7:30?), you can drink wine, orange juice or Champagne as much as you can at no charge. Lastly I have to appreciate the Globus staff for their professionalism. We planned this Italy-Paris trip since February, but we never thought that we will board on the train at Campo di Marte Station. Ms Sarah, the Globus staff first pointed out that we might be wrong, and further helped us with great patience on different route from Firenze Central to Marte. She printed different schedules over and again to fit our need. Of course, we did not miss our train and we were in Paris on August the 6th.

Room Tip: Maybe as a room away from kitchen?

This is Florence, the rooms are going to be small. But, the location is great for walking around the city and the staff were friendly. Nice breakfast in the morning. What makes the hotel is really the location and the staff.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Globus was completely renovated in June 2016. The new reception area, located on the street level of Via Sant'Antonino, is now connected to all rooms thanks to our new elevator. The new breakfast area overlooks a small courtyard with a nice vertical garden. Our staff is a mixture of all ages, languages, cultures and countries, always smiling and willing to offer you tips on places to visit, restaurants to try. They're always there for you. For what regards our location, it is definitely one of the key features of Globus. The proximity to all the Santa Maria Novella train station and all main attractions, including the Duomo, both major museums (Uffizi and Accademia Galleries) or Ponte Vecchio, among others, makes it very easy to plan even the busiest day without the need to lose time getting from the hotel to your desired location. What makes our neighbourhood special though is definitely the Mercato Centrale, located just around the corner from here. In the morning, that is where you want to go if you're planning to buy some food to take back home, or simply want to try the famous Tuscan specialties, "trippa" and "lampredotto". Where this place shines though is the 1st floor, open from 10am until midnight. It's a big, modern open space with many restaurants, serving a variety of really delicious food. Make sure to check it out! ... more   less
