Hard to reach once you enter Florence, but once you reach there you will not want to leave! The hotel is right in the city center, just off one of the streets leading to the Duomo. An excellent place to stay & visit the historical center.

The hotel itself is small but palatial. The rooms are large & have historic settings, with frescos & vintage furniture. Each room is differently decorated, but all of them like palace rooms from the past.

There is parking available on the property, although not too many spots. There are parking garages nearby so thats not a big deal. You are right in the city historical center so nothing is far away. There is plenty to see, shop & eat, all at walking distance. Price may seem high, but thats the price you pay to stay in a palace in the heart of Florence!

We stayed for three nights at Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The breakfast was wonderful and served in a beautiful palatial room. Our room was spotless, quiet and comfortable. The staff was so kind and always very helpful with anything that we asked of them. They were able to help us with tickets for the Uffizi and the Accademia as well as many other things. When you leave the hotel, you immediately see the beautiful Duomo. Restaurants, museums and shops were close by, all within walking distance. We would stay here again in a minute. I am so glad that we chose the Palazzo Niccloini al Duomo for our stay, and had the opportunity to experience this charming and welcoming hotel.

This lovely hotel is magnificent. We felt like we were staying in a beautiful palace. It is centrally located and within walking distance of the train station. The staff tried to accommodate our every need. The breakfast was delicious and was served in a lovely parlor. There was a computer for the use of the guests as well as internet access in all of the rooms. It was certainly a very positive experience.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good

We stayed three nights recently at the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo in Florence. It is located directly behind the Duomo in an old palace, and it is accessed on a side street named Via Dei Servi. The owner and staff were wonderful, and they upgraded us from a room to an apartment that had three rooms. The breakfast service comes with the rent, and the folks at the counter will help with anything you need. Give them 48 hours notice for just about any attraction, and they will likely be able to arrange it for you. A highlight for us was a trip that the hotel arranged with a private driver and guide, who took us out into the country to visit Villa Corsini, where we enjoyed a four course 'home cooked' meal, tastings and tour. The staff also helped with restaurant suggestions, and we were happily surprised. The bed was extraordinary too.

We moved into this hotel via lastminute.com after a fairly bad experience with another hotel in Florence and all I can say is that the difference was day and night. The room (I feel ashamed calling it 'only' a room - when in fact it was a suite) was wonderful and we faced out to the Duomo. It was quiet and lovely for sleeping and the bathroom was as big as some rooms in a hotel. Breakfast was delicious and there was a lovely lady waiting on you hand and foot - she makes the BEST cappucinos I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. Freshly made sponge cakes were also available with breakfast and the room you were having it in was magnificent. We were sometimes the only two having breakfast and it was lovely. The receptionist were all very lovely and very helpful and in general I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is a bit pricey but if you want to treat yourself like I did for my birthday then it is well worth it.

Room Tip: Room/Suite 9 was very nice - facing out to the Duomo.

I stumbled upon Palazzo Niccolini from a simple internet search for a good-priced hotel for a weekend trip to Florence with a good friend. We were thrilled with our choice. You can't beat the location, but it was wonderful to find such an intimate, personal hotel situated in the heart of a touristy area. The online booking process was smooth - I accidentally booked a single room online and wrote an email requesting to change this to a double room and received a positive response within the hour. Check in was flawless - when we landed at the airport and I turned on my blackberry, there was a message from the reception desk welcoming me to Italy and asking for the approximate time of our arrival at the hotel so they could ensure we were met. Our room was not one of the fancy ones shown on the website, but we were not bothered, as Florence is for exploring, not for sitting in your room!! All we needed was a comfortable bed (check), a powerful shower (check), and room to move around (check). Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh coffee, tea, juices, breads, lemon cake, yoghurt, cheeses, meats, pastries, and warm (!!) hard boiled eggs. Free wireless access was much appreciated. The second evening we were at a loss for a good restaurant and asked at the front desk for a recommendation. They took the time to ask us about the restaurants we had tried to book ("why did you choose these restaurants and what was it about them that interested you?") to truly understand what we were after. They ended up making us a reservation at an absolute GEM of a restaurant which was perfectly suited to our taste. They honestly could not have picked better! All told, we felt looked after, cared for and quite special throughout our stay. If you are looking for a souless hotel with 24 hour room service, go elsewhere! If you enjoy charm, you can't beat Palazzo Niccolini!

Comfortable hotel, centrally located - within walking distance of everything you need to see. The building has historical value - restored and adapted to present conditions, but with the charm of the past.
The suprise - every night on the nightstand you can find the poem of the day :).
In rooms you can find Florence guide and from reception you will receive detailed and usfull map ot Florence.
Very nice garden in backyard.
Very pleasant and attentive staff, ready to help at any time. From hotel you can book entry tickets . Ladies from reception will help you to organized private round tour in Tuscany, the price is slightly higher than other tours that are available, but you can stop anywhere i stay how long you want.
I want to thank all for great service and pleasant athmosphere.
