“Stylish Hotel Off the Beaten Path”
Reviewed 4 May 2009

Una Hotel Vittoria is a funky stylish hotel. The lobby and the rooms are unlike I've seen before, and the lighting is awesome.

The room had comfortable beds and high work tables, and a walk in closet area. The bathroom was fine, except for the fact the the shower was see-through from the rest of the room, so we had it covered.

The breakfast room is basically cafeteria style, you serve yourself and sit in a long winding booth. The breakfast itself is fine.

It is located south of the Arno. You have to take the hotel shuttle or the bus to get to places. Not the most convenient location for sightseeing, but easy enough. Further down the road, towards the Ponte Vecchio, is a great string of restaurants. Most serve great food, and are cheaper than those in the main tourist area.

Lovely looking hotel in and out. Friendly staff but dozy breakfast staff. Long walk to the centre if its raining and dog poo all over the pavements everywhere. Beautiful city and lots to see and do - a must is a visit to Pisa. Took a while to get our heads round starters and main course as the starters were the same price as main course at home. Drinks stupidly expensive, 5 euros for a coke and in the hotel a vodka and coke 12 euros!! Overall a lovely 5 days but so expensive we had to limit ourselves. PS Don't, whatever you do go to the Indian on the Via Pisana, rip off and appalling food.

Thank You Trip Advisor for this one. We booked it on the basis of previous comments and have only positive things to say.
Staff: very friendly and helpful
Location. It is set back off the road which means it is exceptionally quiet. About 15 mins walk to city but the walk is nice either along the river or along a narrow street with many different shops and restaurants OR the number 6 bus from outside of the hotel runs from 6AM to 1AM…Over 120 busses per day. It gets you to the Dumo in 3-4 minutes. There is also a free shuttle bus to the train station…We used it 3 times and it was punctual and very under-used…in our three journeys we only shared with two other guests.
Rooms: Beautiful. Some have complained that they are a bit dark…we thought they were lovely..a bit whacky maybe..but very tasteful. Bathroom was great (no plastic curtain in ours). Our bed was gigantic and very comfortable. Our last night was Easter Saturday and they left us an Easter egg in the room. Flat screen TV with Sky and two English channels
Breakfast. A Free buffet breakfast for all guests. This was fantastic. We were expecting a coffee and a roll…however there was nothing that you may wish to have for breakfast that wasn’t available; cereal, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea (HOT), bacon, sausage, cheese, eggs (scrambled or boiled) 3-4 types of bread, marmalade, toast, spouts (yes sprouts…a new breakfast food on me)
Cost: we paid a bit more than we normally do but definitely worth it.
Bar: Very whacky furniture…but the nicest bar man in the world. Yes a bit pricey but so are all hotel bars aren’t they? It was 3 Euros for a coffee which is comparable to what we were paying in the city…however avoid the fresh orange juice which was 6 Euros

Overall: This is a fantastic hotel and a great choice. Would recommend to all adults. However it is more of a business type clientele which suited us as it meant everywhere was very quiet.

We kinda liked this hotel. Really amazing design which we enjoyed a lot... Angela at reception was lovely and overall staff was very friendly and kind.
Breakfast was fantastic.

Room was lovely but... it smelled from moist and cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking hotel... Showering was a mess... Splashing everywhere and the plastic curtain really wasn't to the style and quality of four star hotel...
Finally the beds were good size however very uncomfortable... But that seem to be the common theme in Italy!

Italy in September - be prepared - the mosquitoes are out there to suck your blood!!!

This hotel was booked for us by BA - I read a couple of iffy reviews, but having visited the Hotel I would recommend it, providing you're not too stuffy, black walls and strange figures on the hotel room doors are not to everyone's taste, but my kids loved their room adjoined to ours cool TV.great bedroom.Main Shower with glass walls are a novelty and call for chilled out approach, a deep sunken bath, tv in the bathroom, etc
The bar downstairs is quirky(overpriced tho') and the communal breakfast/dinner tables encourage everyone to relax, food was reasonable.
If you're looking for a run of the mill hotel room ,spiral carpets, pictures on the wall and an armchair in the corner then forget it - if you like a change of scenery , L.E.D lights within the tiled walls and a chilled out effect - then give it s shot!!

If you like ultra-modern decor, gorgeous Bisazza mosaics and high-tech amenities - this is the place for you. Rooms have Wi-Fi and flat screen TVs. There is a bar and a restaurant on the premises, too. The hotel seems more geared to business travelers and the conference market given its size, but it is still a worthwhile place to consider if you are visiting the city. We stayed in this hotel in valentine´s day with 2 friend couples.
We loved the decoration of this hotel, it is unusual but very nice. The rooms are fantastic decorated and prepare to be surprised with the shower - very hot!
The breakfeast is ok and the snacks in the bar very good, but be prepared to wait...
The hotel stays a bit far from the center, maybe 20 minutes walk. We went with a rented car, but it was almost impossible to park in the center. The whole city is amazing and very romantic. Do not miss it! The only problem is the lousy service in all the places we went. Go for Latino Restaurant in the center of Firenze, it is the best and the exception. Excellent service and food - the best i had in the last years.
Overall experience was very positive.
